Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

  Lacquer, in particular for dyeing leather goods.

   The invention relates to a lacquer which is particularly suitable for dyeing leather goods.

   Various paints have already been proposed for this purpose, which contain the addition of various pigments, namely ocher and similar earth colors. In addition, varnishes that were colored with aniline dyes but were translucent have already been used; If you add fillers or earth colors to these paints, the color tone becomes dull.

   According to the invention, the paint is colored with aniline paint and a previously unknown, significant percentage of iron oxide is added, which completely covers the surface, and even black shoes can be colored red or yellow, while on the other hand the paint is brilliant despite the high iron oxide content Color retains.

   It has been found that this optimum effect is achieved with an addition of 12-5 parts by weight of iron oxide to 60 parts by weight of paint.

   The paint according to the invention is obtained by first dissolving 10 parts by weight of gum paint in about 50 parts by weight of 94-95% alcohol. Parts of basic aniline dyes, corresponding to the desired shade, are added to the solution, along with 12-5 parts by weight of iron oxides (oxides, sesquioxides, etc.). You can also perfume the paint, for example with amyl acetate.

   The specified proportions give an excellent product. but they can also be changed somewhat.

   The varnish must be shaken before its application and after repeatedly washing the object to be painted with alcohol, the varnish is applied with a sponge.

   If the lacquer is applied to shoes and, as usual, some shoe wax is used, a shiny effect is achieved.
