Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

A sulfur body produced by pressing a mixture of crushed sulfur and an organic chemical substance.

In the cellar economy, sulfur rods (impact) and, recently, pressed sulfur bodies are used to sulphurise wine and wine containers
The sulfur rods often go out or only burn incompletely, since most of the sulfur drips off, the sulfur bodies go out again easily because of their composition.

In both cases, therefore, there is no clue as to whether one has too much or too little sulphurized, and it is not possible to obtain the exact dosage that is desirable
 EMI1.1
precise dosing of the sulfur dioxide to be generated ensures safe combustion by adding oxygen-releasing substances. The remaining ash is firm and does not disintegrate, which prevents contamination of the wine and the containers.

The preparation according to the invention contains about 90% sulfur and 10% the following additives:
1. Oxygen-releasing substances, which pursue the purpose of ensuring and accelerating the complete combustion of the sulfur, thereby also reducing the risk of the molten, burning sulfur dripping off to a minimum, to the extent of about 2'5,
2. Organic substances which, in a known manner, come into consideration partly as adhesives and binders during shaping, partly as additives which result in structure-forming ash during combustion.

These approximately 7'5% additives consist of sulphite waste liquor, sugar, flour, dextrin etc.
These substances are kneaded with water to form a firm dough, pressed wet into various shapes according to the dosage and then dried. Burning takes place with our own devices.

The composition of the preparation is, for example, the following: 90% sulfur flower, 2 # 5% ammonium nitrate, 7 # 5% sulphite waste liquor, flour, sugar, dextrin and the like. like
