Zu den Beschleunigern der Zersetzung gehört entgegen anderen Behauptungen in der Literatur auch Formaldehyd. Es wurde z. B. beobachtet, daß eine Lösung von So Teilen 3oprozentigem Wasserstoffsuperoxyd mit c95o Teilen d.oprozentiger Formaldehydlösung schon nach r4 Tagen auf ein Viertel des Gehaltes an aktivem Sauerstoff gesunken war.
