  VerfahrenzumSensibilisierenvonFilmen.

  Process for sensitizing films.

The invention relates to a method for sensitizing films and has the advantage over the prior art that the exposure time is considerably reduced according to the new method.

The process consists essentially in the fact that the in a known manner with a gelatin
 EMI1.1
a solution of potassium bichromate, fenizyanide and potassium bromide is added (e.g. 30 parts of bichromate, 5 parts of ferricyanide and 5 parts of potassium bromide to 1 liter of solution). This can be done before the layer is applied to the celluloid tape or after this layer has been arranged on the base. The substrate with the emulsion is then exposed, washed out in warm water, colored if necessary, and the film tape is felt-like. The development can also be carried out in a known manner without warm water, i.e. cold; then the unexposed gelatine swells so much that the image is visible even when it is wet.

The addition of bromine salts in the production of an emulsion for photosensitive plates is known (Austrian patent specification 12429), as is the addition of halogen salts and fenis salts to chromium
 EMI1.2
 scripture 33377).
