Die Schicht wird nach der Erfindung mit einer Lösung von Bichromatkalium, Ferricyanidsalz und Bromkalium gebadet (z. B. auf i Liter Lösung 3o Teile Bichromat, 5 Teile Ferricyanid und 5 Teile Bromkali). Die Lösung kann dem Kolloid aber auch zugesetzt werden, bevor es auf das Zelluloidband aufgebracht wird. Die sensibilisierte Schicht wird belichtet, zunächst mit kaltem Wasser gewaschen und dann in warmem Wasser entwickelt, gegebenenfalls nach vorheriger Anfärbung.
