Diclltung, s-und Packungsmaterial.
Den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildet ein Dichtungs-und Packungsmateria], das sich dadurch auszeichnet, dass es eine metallische Berührung und infolgedessen einen günstigen Gleitungsfnktor gewährleistet und trotzdem sich den abzudichtenden Teilen besonders gut anschmiegt.
Das Dichtungs-und Packungsmaterial besteht aus einem Faserzopf, z. B. einem Hanf-, Asbestoder Baumwollzopf, auf den Teilchen eines geeigneten Metalles mittels eines Spritzverfahrens aufgespritzt worden sind. Bei der Herstellung der Faserzöpfe geht man zweckmässig folgendermassen vor :
Man schmilzt zunächst das fragliche Metall, z. B. eine Legierung von Weissmetall und Blei, in einem geeigneten Gefäss ein und lässt das flüssige Metall in dünnem Strahle aus dem Schmelzgefäss aus- fliessen. Gegen den ausfliessenden. Strahl richtet man einen Pressluft-oder Dampfstrom und spritzt so das Metall auf den mit dem Metallüberzugs zu versehenden Faserzopf auf, der zweckmässig danach mit einem Schmiermittel getränkt wird.
Dem Faserzopf gibt man zweckmässig einen rechteckigen Querschnitt und bespritzt die Seite, die beim Gebrauch mit dem beweglichen Maschinenteile (z. B. einer Kolbenstange, einem Tauchkolben oder einer sich drehenden Welle) in Berührung steht, stärker als die übrigen Seiten. Beim Aufspritzen auf den Faserzopf nehmen die einzelnen Metalltropfen beim Erstarren mehr oder weniger die Form flacher Blättchen an, so dass der Metallüberzug ein schuppenförmiges Gefüge annimmt. Dies gewährt den Vorteil, dass der Überzug eine gewisse Porosität erhält und demzufolge dem Schmiermittel, mit dem der Faserzopf getränkt ist, den Durchtritt zu dem beweglichen Maschinenteile gestattet.
PATENT-ANSPRÜCHE :
1. Dichtungs-und Paekungsmaterial, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass es aus einem Faserzopf besteht, der mit einer durch Bespritzen mit flüssigem Metall hergestellten Auflage versehen und zweckmässig nach Herstellung der Auflage mit einem Schmiermittel getränkt ist.

The sealing and packing material consists of a fiber braid, e.g. B. a hemp, asbestos or cotton braid, on which particles of a suitable metal have been sprayed by means of a spraying process. When making the fiber braids, it is advisable to proceed as follows:
