Fig. 1 zeigt den Ertindungsgegenstand im Querschnitt. Fig. 2 zeigt eine Draufsicht auf die Erfindung.

Method and apparatus for attaching preformed one-piece caps to insulators.
EMI1.1
It is known to press the cap into the undercut surface of the insulator by compressing it, or a closed, one-piece reinforcing pressure ring arranged on it, to a smaller diameter by a number of radially directed press punches. However, this and similar methods have the disadvantage that the caps do not fit properly, since as soon as the pressure forces cease to act, the immersed material springs back somewhat. u. between as much as corresponds to its elasticity. This subsequent springing back is due to the process itself.
According to the invention, this springback of the material is prevented by using a method in which the cap is first pulled radially against the insulating body in a known manner and then pulled through a pull ring formed from elastic punches with the insulator together in the axial direction and is thus pressed firmly against the wall. This compresses the material and prevents it from springing back as a result of the permanent change in shape.,
The method is illustrated in the drawing in FIGS. 1 - 'using an exemplary embodiment. Fig. 1 shows the subject of the invention in cross section. Fig. 2 shows a plan view of the invention.
The drawing ring consists of a number of elastic punches f, which are held by a circular stop plate 1 and are under the action of pressing cylinders h arranged around the ring. The stamps / are shaped in such a way that they form a closed ring when they come into contact with a projection of the die plate. In order to achieve a better drawing effect, the drawing ring has a more obtuse cone than that of the insulating body m, which is under the action of the press cylinder i.
If the insulator is now moved upwards from the pick-up plate 1/1 by the pull ring f in the direction of the arrow (t (Fig. 3), the upper edge of the cap is first bent radially towards the insulator and then through the axial that occurs during this movement Pressure (see arrow b) to compress the edge of the cap and thereby achieve a firm contact between the cap and the insulating body.
