Control for compressed air impact tools with a multi-stage pipe slide.
EMI1.1
Known with tubular valves, in which the reversal to one side by loading the large end face with air compressed by the piston and the reversing to the other side in the event of a voltage drop due to the pressure of the working air on a constantly loaded step surface or temporally successively on two different levels of the control organs is effected. This type of reversal places considerable strain on the individual parts of the device.

The compressed air tool consists of the cylinder 1 in which the piston 2 slides in a sealing manner. At the upper end, the cylinder bore for accommodating the control slide 3 is expanded. The lower narrowed part of the cylinder bore serves to accommodate the shank 4 of the actual tool. The upper end of the cylinder is closed by the valve housing cover 5, which is pressed onto the cylinder by a cap-shaped screw connection 6, which is expediently designed as a handle with a built-in inlet element. The spool J has the step surfaces 7, 8, 9 and 9a, of which 7 is the smallest.
In the positions of the pipe slide 3 illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 3, the flows

Fresh air now passes through the channels 10 over the percussion piston and drives the same downward. Arrives in the stroke stroke of the control slide

of the control slide and, after a small voltage drop has occurred due to throttling in the cylinder, with the help of the static pressure on the step surfaces 9 and 9a, the slide is set in motion and closes the inflow of fresh air from the ducts 10 before the piston upper edge 23 releases the exhaust 12 gives.
When the control slide is moved upward, edge 24 closes the channel 22 and under the step surface 9 expansion of the trapped air occurs, under the step surface 8 the pressure disappears as the air escapes from the working cylinder and the slide movement takes place without further substantial acceleration by the Pressure of the fresh air on the small step surface 7, which has now reached the area of the channels 10.
