Im Bäckergewerbe wird gewöhnlich der Wisch, der zur Reinigung des Backofens nach Entfernung der Glut dient, durch Auftreiben auf eine konisch verstärkte Stange befestigt. Sie dient zur Befestigung eines Strohwisches, der durch eine entsprechend geformte Druckplatte durch Anziehen der sie tragenden Schraubenspindel axial gegen das Stangenende gepresst wird und so am Verdrehen verhindert ist.
Die Elastizität der Strohhahne verhindert ein Sichzusammendrehen des Strohwisches. Ausserdem legt sich nach kürzester Zeit der jeweils obere Teil des Wisches schützend über die Eisenteile, so dass Verletzungen der Ofenwände nicht vorkommen können und gleichzeitig tritt eine Kühlung der Eisenteile durch Tropfwasser ein.
Die Konstruktion des Kehrwisches ist beispielsweise in der Zeichnung gezeigt.
Ein mit Innengewinde versehenes Gasrohr wird mit dem zugespitzten Ende 1 in die vorgebohrt zylindlibche Stange 3 (Fig. 1) eingetrieben und mit einem Querstift 4 verkeilt. Dieses Gasrohr bildet die Mutter für eine Kopfschraube 5, welche zentrisch durch den Wischbund 9 (Fig. 1) des Strohwisches 10 durchgesteckt wird und mit einer entsprechend ausgebildeten Unterlagscheibe 6 den Wisch 10 gegen die Stange 3 presst und so gegen Verdrehungen sichert. Die zylindrische Stange 3 wird gegen Spalten durch einen versenktan Eisenring 7 gesichert. Der Wisch 10 hat im neuen Zustand die in der Zeichnung ausgezogen gezeichnete Form, nach dem Gebrauch die gestrichelt angegebene.

It is used to fasten a piece of straw that is pressed axially against the rod end by a correspondingly shaped pressure plate by tightening the screw spindle that carries it, thus preventing it from twisting.
The elasticity of the straw taps prevents the straw from twisting. In addition, after a very short period of time, the upper part of the wipe is placed protectively over the iron parts, so that damage to the furnace walls cannot occur and, at the same time, the iron parts are cooled by dripping water.

An internally threaded gas pipe is driven with the pointed end 1 into the pre-drilled cylindrical rod 3 (FIG. 1) and wedged with a cross pin 4. This gas pipe forms the nut for a head screw 5, which is inserted centrally through the wiper collar 9 (Fig. 1) of the straw wiper 10 and presses the wiper 10 against the rod 3 with a correspondingly designed washer 6 and thus secures it against twisting. The cylindrical rod 3 is secured against splitting by a countersunk iron ring 7. In the new state, the wiper 10 has the shape shown in solid lines in the drawing, and the one indicated by dashed lines after use.
