Abstract

Se proporciona una modificación cristalina novedosa de Piroxasulfona, caracterizada por un difractograma de rayos X en polvo (XRD), un espectro de infrarrojos (IR), un punto de fusión y/o un perfil de calorimetría diferencial de barrido (DSC). También se proporciona un método para la preparación de la modificación cristalina de Piroxasulfona, que comprende: i) proporcionar una solución de Piroxasulfona en un sistema de disolvente que comprende uno o más disolventes; ii) precipitar la modificación cristalina I de Piroxasulfona en la solución; y iii) aislar la modificación cristalina I de Piroxasulfona precipitada. También se proporcionan composiciones que comprenden la modificación cristalina I de Piroxasulfona y el uso de la modificación cristalina I en el control del crecimiento de plantas no deseadas. Reivindicación 1: Una modificación cristalina I de Piroxasulfona, presentando la modificación cristalina al menos tres de las siguientes reflexiones, en cualquier combinación, como 2q ± 0.2 grados en un difractograma de rayos X en polvo (XRD en inglés) registrado usando radiación Cu-Ka a 25ºC: @@@@@@@@@
