Abstract
En una realización, los valores máximos característicos de poliestireno generados en la producción y el procesamiento de estireno se detectan usando un análisis de espectroscopia infrarroja por transformada de Fourier (FT-IR por sus siglas en inglés). Se observa el crecimiento de los valores máximos característicos de poliestireno como una función del tiempo de polimerización. El área de valores máximos se correlaciona con el contenido de poliestireno en una relación lineal. Por lo tanto, se construye la relación cuantitativa entre el contenido de poliestireno y el tiempo de polimerización empleando FT-IR como la herramienta de análisis. Notablemente, esta relación crucial se puede usar para monitorear la generación de polímero indeseado en el proceso de producción de estireno como una función del tiempo. El producto para monitoreo derivado de esta invención puede ayudar a los productores de estireno a monitorear y controlar el sub-producto secundario de polímero generado en sus procesos rápida y cuantitativamente y tomar acciones de mitigación para minimizar el impacto negativo.
