Abstract

Esqueletos principales metal-orgánicos que tienen una estructura nuclear repetitiva que en general incluye un conector coordinado a una unidad de construcción secundaria a través de enlaces O-metal-O. Los conectores crean un esqueleto principal con una pluralidad de poros, donde por lo menos una parte de la pluralidad de poros está ocupada por una unidad cobalto carbonilo. También se proveen métodos para hacer dichos esqueletos principales metal-orgánicos mediante una reacción solvotérmica. Los esqueletos principales metal-orgánicos son adecuados para usar en reacciones de carbonilación, por ejemplo en la carbonilación de epóxidos. Los esqueletos principales metal-orgánicos se pueden usar para producir ácido acrílico a partir de óxido de etileno y monóxido de carbono a escala industrial. La producción puede incluir diversas operaciones unitarias, que incluyen por ejemplo un sistema para la producción de b-propiolactona configurado para producir b-propiolactona a partir de óxido de etileno y monóxido de carbono; un sistema para la producción de polipropiolactona configurado para producir polipropiolactona a partir de b-propiolactona; y un sistema para la producción de ácido acrílico configurado para producir ácido acrílico con alta pureza por termólisis de la polipropiolactona.
