Abstract
Un proceso de desmetilación de un éster metílico de metionina o su análogo hidroxi y la producción de metanotiol como un producto secundario; pudiendo éstos productos ser utilizados como aditivo de alimento para animales o como aditivo de comida. El metanotiol puede ser consumido en un paso de hidrotiolación, tal como en un paso de preparación del éster metílico de metionina o su análogo hidroxi de glicolato de metil-vinilo. Reivindicación 1: Un proceso para generar un producto de desmetilación de la fórmula (2): en donde R es -OH o -NH₂, caracterizado porque comprende un paso de desmetilación para hacer reaccionar un éster metílico de la fórmula (1): CH₃-OCO-CHR-CH₂-CH₂-S-CH₃ (1), en donde R tiene el mismo significado que antes, con una anión de sulfuro de hidrógeno para obtener metanotiol y el producto de desmetilación de la fórmula (2). Reivindicación 4: Un proceso para generar un producto de desmetilación de la fórmula (2): en donde R es -OH o -NH₂, caracterizado porque comprende: a1) un paso de hidrotiolación para hacer reaccionar un compuesto de la fórmula (3): CH₃-OCO-CHR-CH=CH₂ (3), en donde R tiene el mismo significado que antes, con metanotiol para obtener un éster metílico de la fórmula (1): CH₃-OCO-CHR-CH₂-CH₂-S-CH₃ (1), en donde R tiene el mismo significado que antes, y b) un paso de desmetilación para hacer reaccionar el éster metílico de la fórmula (1) con un anión de sulfuro de hidrógeno para obtener metanotiol y el producto de desmetilación de la fórmula (2).
