Abstract
La presente descripción proporciona construcciones de ADN recombinante y plantas transgénicas o modificadas con rasgos mejorados tales como mayor rendimiento, mayor eficacia en el uso del nitrógeno y mayor tolerancia a la sequía o la eficacia en el uso del agua. Las plantas transgénicas o modificadas pueden incluir cultivos de campo, así como propágulos de plantas, partes de plantas y progenie de esas plantas transgénicas o modificadas. También se proporcionan métodos para confeccionar y utilizar plantas modificadas o transgénicas, así como los métodos para producir semillas a partir de dichas plantas modificadas o transgénicas, cultivar estas semillas y seleccionar plantas de progenie con rasgos mejorados. Se describen además plantas modificadas o transgénicas con fenotipos o rasgos alterados útiles para el análisis y la selección de instancias, ediciones o mutaciones transgénicas con un rasgo mejorado deseado.
