Abstract

Proceso para funcionarizar y opcionalmente entrecruzar un polímero que comprende los pasos de: a) tratar una mezcla que comprende dicho polímero y una monoazida a una temperatura en el rango de 80 - 250ºC para formar un polímero funcionalizado, y b) opcionalmente hacer reaccionar el polímero funcionalizado con una sustancia que comprende dos o más funcionalidades seleccionadas de funcionalidades amina, anhídrido, alcohol, tiol, y aldehído, en donde la monoazida tiene la fórmula (1), en donde Y es un compuesto de fórmula (2) ó (3); m es 0 ó 1; n es 0 ó 1, n + m = 1 ó 2; X es un grupo hidrocarburo lineal o ramificado, alifático o aromático con 1 - 12 átomos de carbono, conteniendo opcionalmente heteroátomos; Rᵇ se selecciona del grupo que consiste en hidrógeno, grupos alquilo lineales y ramificados con 1 - 6 átomos de carbono opcionalmente sustituidos con grupos funcionales que contienen O, S, P, Si, o N, grupos alcoxi con 1 - 6 átomos de carbono, y halógenos; y cada Rᵃ se selecciona individualmente de hidrógeno y grupos alquilo lineales o ramificados con 1 - 6 átomos de carbono, o puede formar una estructura de anillo saturado o insaturado, alifático o aromático con al menos otro Rᵃ.
