Abstract
Se muestra un diagrama de bloques esquemático de un codificador de audio 2 para la codificación de una señal de audio de múltiples canales 4. El codificador de audio comprende un codificador de dominio de predicción lineal 6, un codificador de dominio de frecuencia 8, y un controlador 10 para la conmutación entre el codificador de dominio de predicción lineal 6 y el codificador de dominio de frecuencia 8. El controlador está configurado de manera tal que una porción de la señal de múltiples canales esté representada ya sea por medio de una trama codificada del codificador de dominio de predicción lineal o por medio de una trama codificada del codificador de dominio de frecuencia. El codificador de dominio de predicción lineal comprende un mezclador descendente 12 para la mezcla descendente de la señal de múltiples canales 4 para obtener una señal de mezcla descendente 14. El codificador de dominio la predicción lineal además comprende un codificador de núcleo de dominio de predicción lineal 16 para la codificación de la señal de mezcla descendente y en forma adicional, el codificador de dominio de predicción lineal comprende un primer codificador conjunto de múltiples canales 18 para la generación de una primera información de múltiples canales 20 desde la señal de múltiples canales 4.
