Abstract

Proceso para la co-producción de metanol y urea a partir de una alimentación de hidrocarburo sin ventilar grandes cantidades de dióxido de carbono a la atmósfera. Reivindicación 1: Un proceso para co-producir metanol y urea a partir de una materia prima de hidrocarburo, caracterizado porque comprende los pasos secuenciales que consisten en: (a) producir un gas de síntesis que contiene hidrógeno, monóxido y dióxido de carbono y nitrógeno al reformar con vapor la materia prima de hidrocarburo en una etapa de reformado primario y subsecuentemente en una etapa de reformado secundario; (b) sujetar el gas de síntesis del paso (a) a un desplazamiento parcial de gas de agua; (c) remover por lo menos una parte del dióxido de carbono del gas de síntesis del paso (b); (d) convertir catalíticamente el monóxido de carbono, dióxido de carbono e hidrógeno del gas de síntesis del paso (c) en una etapa de síntesis de metanol de una pasada y retirar un efluente que contiene metanol y un efluente gaseoso que contiene nitrógeno, hidrógeno y monóxido de carbono y dióxido de carbono no convertidos; (e) sujetar el efluente gaseoso del paso (d) a una metanización catalítica para remover el monóxido de carbono y el dióxido de carbono no convertidos; (f) convertir catalíticamente el nitrógeno e hidrógeno en el efluente gaseoso del paso (e) en una etapa de síntesis de amoníaco y retirar un efluente que contiene amoníaco; y (g) pasar por lo menos una parte del efluente que contiene amoníaco a una etapa de síntesis de urea y convertir el amoníaco en el efluente a un producto de urea por medio de la reacción con por lo menos una parte del dióxido de carbono que es removido del gas de síntesis en el paso (c), en donde una parte del dióxido de carbono obtenido en el paso (c) se recicla a la etapa de reformado primario en el paso (a) y/o en donde la etapa de reformado secundario en el paso (a) es operada con aire enriquecido con oxígeno.
