Se divulgan materiales acrílicos, con alto índice de refracción, hidrófobos, con baja pegajosidad. Estos materiales, especialmente útiles como materiales para lente intraocular, contienen uno o varios monómeros arilacrílicos hidrófobos como monómeros principales formadores de dispositivos, un aditivo macrómero reductor de pegajosidad y un aditivo reductor de vacuolización. Además de su utilización como materiales para lente intraocular, los presentes materiales son adecuados también para utilizarlos en otros dispositivos oftálmicos implantables.
