Abstract
Método para diseñar una planta que presenta una acetilación reducida en las paredes celulares. El método comprende expresar un polinucleótido heterólogo aislado que codifica una enzima acetilxilano esterasa (AXE) y/o una glucoronil esterasa (GE) en las paredes de las células de la planta, con la transcripción bajo el control de un promotor regulado por el desarrollo que presenta actividad específicamente en las paredes de las células vegetales cuando ocurre el depósito de una pared secundaria. El campo de aplicación de la presente está relacionado con la conversión de biomasa (por ejemplo, producción de biocombustibles) y con aplicaciones en alimentos para seres humanos o animales.
