Abstract

Fibra metálica a base de uno o más elementos del grupo que comprende platino, paladio, rodio, rutenio, o iridio, con 0 hasta 0,30% en peso de uno o más elementos adicionales de aleacion del grupo que comprende níquel, cobalto, oro, renio, molibdeno y tungsteno, representa 1 a 500 ppm en peso de boro o fosforo de acuerdo a la invencion. Un material no-tejido o una malla, en particular para la produccion de oxido de nitrogeno o para la produccion de ácido cianhídrico, consiste de tales fibras. Para la produccion de fibras a base de materiales nobles con hasta 30% en peso de metales adicionales de aleacion por hilado de fibras a partir de una masa fundida, se reduce el punto de fusion de la masa fundida en al menos 400°C, antes de hilar las fibras, aleando adicionalmente el metal con boro o fosforo, y siendo removido el boro o fosforo nuevamente de las fibras.
