Abstract

Se brindan por la presente los métodos y un sistema para la produccion de biogas, biosolidos clase A segun la clasificacion del Organismo de Proteccion Ambiental de EE.UU., y fertilizante orgánico líquido con reduccion de patogenos. A través de la digestion de material de residuo mediante el uso de fases secuenciales en un proceso de digestion eficaz, se logra mayor eficiencia en la conversion de biomasa y un mejor rendimiento de productos (en cantidad y/o calidad) con una significativa reduccion de tiempo de estadía en cada fase. Reivindicacion 1: Un método que comprende proveer una biomasa como una corriente de alimentacion; hidrolizar aerobicamente por lo menos una porcion de la corriente de alimentacion en una etapa de hidrolisis; transferir por lo menos una porcion de la corriente de alimentacion luego de la hidrolisis a una etapa de acidificacion; acidificar anaerobicamente por lo menos una porcion de la corriente de alimentacion a una primera temperatura; transferir por lo menos una porcion de la corriente de alimentacion luego de la acidificacion a una etapa termofílica; y convertir anaerobicamente por lo menos una porcion de la corriente de alimentacion en la etapa termofílica a una segunda temperatura, en donde la etapa de conversion incluye la formacion de por lo menos ácido acético, metano y dioxido de carbono.
