Abstract
La presente proporciona métodos para la hidrogenolisis de polioles, los cuales maximizan la selectividad de la reaccion hacia la formacion de propilenglicol y minimizan la formacion de otros polioles. En una modalidad, la presente divulga procesos para la hidrogenolisis de glicerol, los cuales maximizan la selectividad de la reaccion hacia la formacion de propilenglicol y minimizan la formacion de otros polioles. Particularmente la presente se refiere a un proceso para la hidrogenolisis de glicerol que comprende poner glicerol en contacto con hidrogeno y un catalizador solido a una velocidad espacial líquida por hora de 0,5h-1 a 2,5h-1 para minimizar la formacion de butanodioles.
