Abstract

La presente solicitud provee secuencias de aminoácidos (que incluyen una secuencia de consenso) de una proteína hemaglutinina A del virus de gripe aviar. Estas construcciones genéticas recientes están disenadas para proveer un amplio espectro de actividades a través de la familia de serotipos proveyendo de esta manera, una base para una vacuna que tiene una amplia proteccion contra enfermedades heterologas. Los genes han sido además mejorados mediante la adicion de sitios de glicosilacion estratégicos en las secuencias de aminoácidos que ellas codifican. Estos genes pueden también, opcionalmente, ser un codon optimizado para la expresion de plantas, insertadas en el vector apropiado y donado en plantas para la expresion. Los polipéptidos producidos por células de huésped recombinantes o plantas transgénicas pueden también ser usados como fuente de antígeno para la formulacion de vacunas para el control de la gripe en individuos susceptibles. Adicionalmente, el material de plantas transgénicas puede también ser usado como fuente de antígeno para la formulacion de vacunas para el control de la gripe en individuos susceptibles. Reivindicacion 1: Un polipéptido aislado, purificado y/o recombinante que comprende las SEC ID N°: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 o 14.
