Abstract

La presente se refiere a polinucleotidos y polipéptidos recientemente identificados en los pasajes biosintéticos de ácido fítico, a variantes y derivados de los mismos; métodos para preparar polinucleotidos, polipéptidos, variantes, derivados y antagonista. En particular, la presente se relaciona con polinucleotidos que codifican inositol polifosfato 2-quinasa (IPP2-K) y polipéptidos que exhiben dicha actividad para modular la biosíntesis de ácido fítico de manera tal de reducir el ácido fítico y/o aumentar fosforo en ácido no fítico, especialmente en alimentos de animales de maíz o soja.
