Abstract
Un método mejorado para el manejo de la red, en particular, en el contexto de los estándares IEEE 802.11 e IEEE 802.11k, a través de dos nuevas mediciones MAC, con mayores ventajas. Las dos nuevas mediciones incluyen una medicion de la carga del tráfico de enlace ascendente de WTRUs, y una medicion de la carga del servicio de APs y se aplica, en general, a al menos las capas 1 y 2 que se aplican a al menos IEEE 802.11k en el contexto de sistemas OFDM y CDMA 2000, pero también se aplica a otros escenarios. También se brinda un método para determinar y anunciar la congestion en un sistema de Red Inalámbrica de área local (WLAN). También introduce un método para manejar la congestion cuando se la detecta. Este aspecto de la presente invencion se aplica, principalmente, a sistemas inalámbricos que utilizan el mecanismo de acceso multiple por deteccion de la portadora evitando colisiones (CSMA/CA). Los métodos se implementan ventajosamente en WTRUs selectivamente configuradas de varias formas.
