Abstract

Métodos y composiciones para modular el desarrollo vegetal. Se proveen secuencias de polinucleotidos y secuencias de aminoácidos que codifican polipéptidos de citoquinina oxidasa. Las secuencias se pueden usar en diversos métodos incluyendo la modulacion del desarrollo radicular, modulacion del desarrollo floral, modulacion del desarrollo foliar y/o de brotes, modulacion del tamano y/o el peso de las semillas, modulacion de la tolerancia bajo estrés abiotico y modulacion de la resistencia a patogenos. También se proveen polinucleotidos que comprenden promotores CKX. Los promotores se pueden usar para regular la expresion de una secuencia de interés. Se proveen asimismo plantas transformadas, células y tejidos vegetales y semillas. Reivindicacion 1: Un polipéptido aislado que comprende una secuencia de aminoácidos seleccionada del grupo formado por: (a) una secuencia de aminoácidos que comprende la SEQ ID No. :6, 9, 12 o 53; (b) una secuencia de aminoácidos que comprende al menos un 85% de identidad de secuencia con la SEQ ID No. : 6, 9, 12 o 53, donde dicho polipéptido posee actividad citoquinina oxidasa. (c) una secuencia de aminoácidoscodificada por una secuencia de nucleotidos que se hibridiza bajo condiciones severas con el complemento de la SEQ ID No. : 5, 8, 11 o 52, donde dichas condiciones severas comprenden hibridacion en formamida 50% NaCl 1 M, SDS 1% a 37 degree C y un lavado en SSC 0,1X a 60-65 degree C; y (d) una secuencia de aminoácidos que comprende al menos 17 aminoácidos consecutivos de la SEQ ID No. 6, 9, 12 o 53, donde dicho polipéptido retiene la actividad citoquinina oxidasa.
