Abstract

Un conjunto de cable de fibra óptica que comprende una fibra óptica deslizablemente encerrada dentro de una tubería hueca, teniendo tanto la fibra como la tubería correspondientes extremos primero y segundo. El cable termina estando los primeros y segundos extremos de la tubería y de la fibra restringidos entre si de manera tal que al fibra y la tubería aproximadamente la misma longitud cuando se hallan a una primera temperatura. La tubería está hecha de un material que se contrae en mayor grado que la fibra óptica cuando el cable es expuesto a temperaturas inferiores a la primera temperatura, de modo tal que la fibra es más larga que la tubería y se forma un exceso de longitud de la fibra. Una porción intermedia de la tubería permite que el exceso de longitud de fibra se acumule sin curvarse en un radio que es más pequeño que un radio de curvatura mínimo.
