Abstract

Se proveen composiciones reactivas de colorante de tetrazolio, estabilizadas, y métodos para su uso en la medición de un analito en una muestra. Las presentes composiciones reactivas incluyen: un componente colorante de tetrazolio, por ejemplo una sal de tetrazolio soluble en agua; una cantidad eficaz de un agente estabilizador de nitrito, por ejemplo una sal de nitrito. En muchas realizaciones, las presentes composiciones reactivas incluyen miembros adicionales de un sistema productor de una senal oxidante de analito tales como: una enzima oxidante de analito, por ejemplo una analito deshidrogenasa o una analito oxidasa; un agente de trasferencia de electrones y un cofactor enzimático. Asimismo se proveen tiras de ensayo que incluyen las presentes composiciones reactivas así como también sistemas y equipos que incorporan las presentes tiras reactivas de ensayo. Las presentes composiciones reactivas, las tiras de ensayo, los sistemas y sus equipos son útiles para la detección de una amplia variedad de analitos en una muestra tales como en una muestra fisiológica, por ejemplo, la sangre y una fracción de la misma, o ISF (fluido intersticial).
