Abstract

En el presente se describen composiciones poliméricas con un índice de refracción relativamente alto, así como dispositivos oftálmicos, como por ejemplo lentes intraoculares e inserciones corneales obtenidas de ellas. Las composiciones poliméricas preferibles se producen a través de la copolimerización de uno o más prepolímeros de polisiloxano sustituido con aromático con uno o más monómeros aromáticos, monómeros alquilados o monómeros hidrófilos. Reivindicación 1: Un prepolímero que consiste en un compuesto de fórmula (1), en las que los grupos V pueden tener sustituyentes fotopolimerizables o polimerizables térmicamente iguales o diferentes de la estructura general: R3CH=C(R4)(CH2)p(W)q(Z)q(Ar)Qr5; los grupos R pueden ser sustituyentes hidrocarburo de C1-10 saturados iguales o diferentes; los grupos R1 pueden ser sustituyentes alquilo de C1-10 iguales o diferentes; los grupos R2, pueden ser sustituyentes alquilo de C1-10, sustituyentes fluoroalquilo de C1-10, o sustituyentes alquil-fluoroalquilo de C2-20, con uniones éter entre ellos iguales o diferentes, o sustituyentes aromáticos de C6-30, iguales o diferentes como por ejemplo pero sin limitarse sólo al fenilo; los grupos L, que pueden estar presentes o no en los prepolímeros de la invención pueden ser uniones uretano, urea, carbonato o éster iguales o diferentes; y es un número natural superior a 4 que representa la suma de fracciones de siloxano con grupos R2 diferentes al azar, tal como se ha definido, con u a relación molar de sustituyentes aromáticos a sustituyentes alquilo no inferior a 1:4; x es un número natural de manera que el peso molecular del prepolímero sea al menos aproximadamente 1000 y el índice de refracción sea aproximadamente 1,45 o superior; m es un número natural superior a 4 que representa la suma de fracciones siloxano con grupos R2 diferentes al azar, tal como se ha definido antes, con una relación molar de sustituyentes aromáticos a sustituyentes alquilo no inferior a 1:4, de manera que el peso molecular del prepolímero sea al menos aproximadamente 1000 y el índice de refracción sea al menos aproximadamente 1,45 o superior; R3 se selecciona del grupo que consiste en hidrógeno, alquilo de C1-10 y -CO-U-R1; R4 se selecciona del grupo que consiste en hidrógeno y metilo; R5 es un radical alquileno divalente de C1-10; el grupo W se selecciona del grupo que consiste en -CO- y -OCO-; el grupo Z se -O- y -NH; los grupos Z1 pueden ser iguales o diferentes y se seleccionan del grupo que consiste en -OH y -NH2; los grupos Ar pueden ser radicales de C6-30 iguales o diferentes; p es un entero no negativo inferior a 7; q es 0 ó 1; U se selecciona del grupo que consiste en un radical alquilo de -OC1-12, un radical alquilo de -SC1-12 y un radical alquilo de -NHC1-12.
