Abstract

Un novedoso catalizador bimetálico soportado comprende un metal del Grupo VIII tal como el platino, y estano del cual por lo menos una porcion interactua fuertemente con el metal el Grupo VIII presente en el catalizador en el estado reducido. En el estado parcialmente oxidado, el catalizador de la presente invencion contiene por lo menos un 10% de estano en la forma de una especie reducida de estano con un estado de oxidacion O, teniendo dicha especie un desplazamiento isomérico en el intervalo de entre 0,80 a 2,60 mm/s y un desdoblamiento cuadrupolar en el intervalo de entre 0,65 a 2,00 mm/s. La presente invencion también se refiere a la preparacion de dicho catalizador, y a los procesos en los cuales se utiliza dicho catalizador para transformar hidrocarburos en compuestos aromáticos, tales como los procesos de reformado de gasolina, y los procesos de produccion de aromáticos.
