Abstract

El invento se refiere a una secuencia de ADN que codifica una proteína de tela de arana sintética, a las proteínas de tela de arana recombinantes que son codificadas por dicha secuencia de ADN, a los métodos para obtener plantas o células vegetales que contienen proteína de tela de arana recombinante, así como a las células vegetales y las plantas transgénicas que contienen una secuencia de ADN que codifica una proteína de tela de arana sintética. También se refiere a un método para obtener una proteína de tela de arana vegetal a partir de plantas transgénicas, así como a las proteínas de tela de arana vegetales que se obtienen con un método de este tipo. De esta manera se logra poner a disposicion secuencias de ADN que codifican una proteína sintética de tela de arana que presenta la mayor similitud posible con las secuencias naturales de las proteínas fibrosas de tela de arana conocidas. Además, se ofrece un procedimiento con el que se pueden producir proteínas sintéticas de tela de arana en gran escala. Las proteínas de tela de arana conforme a la invencion pueden utilizarse para preparar hilos sintéticos así como láminas y membranas. Estos productos son apropiados especialmente para aplicaciones médicas, sobre todo para suturar heridas y/o como estructuras o como recubrimiento de organos artificiales. Además, las láminas y membranas fabricadas a partir de estas proteínas de tela de arana pueden emplearse, por ejemplo, como superficies de soporte para células cultivadas y para filtrado.
