Abstract

Se utilizan compuestos que contienen grupos funcionales de tipo amida o imida para aumentar la velocidad oxidacion de alcoholes mediada por nitroxido,particularmente de los alcoholes primarios y secundarios. Si bien son adecuados para la oxidacion de grupos alcohol en una variedad de sustratos, esparticularmente util oxidar celulosa, pulpa de celulosa o fibra de celulosa, de modo que resulte comercialmente compatible con el proceso tradicional defabricacion de papel. Tales co-catalizadores puede n utilizarse para aumentar la cantidad absoluta de grupos aldehído en la celulosa, la pulpa de celulosa o lafibra de celulosa, aumentando entonces adicionalmente la resistencia en estado humedo inherente, la resistencia en estado humedo temporaria y la resistencia enestado seco del papel hecho con tal celulosa, pulpa de celulosa o fibra de celulosa.
