Abstract

Un método para establecer vías de control interno dentro de un modo de transferencia asincronico ATM, y un modo de transferencia asincronico ATM. Paraformar vías de control interno en un nodo ATM (20, 120), se establecen inicialmente medias sendas (HF) y posteriormente se conectan para formar sendascompletas (FT). En un nodo ATM que tiene entidades de nodo plurales (30, 1) o tableros de dispositivos conectados a un nucleo de conmutacion (24, 124) paracada entidad de nodo se ejecuta un programa de vía de control principal (70) por un procesador principal de nodo 0 que inicialmente forma una media sendaescucha y una media senda de envío que se extiende desde el procesador principal de nodo y el nucleo de conmutacion. Separadamente e independientemente, esdecir, sin previa comunicacion con el procesador principal de nodo, un programa de vía de control de entidad (80) ejecutado por un procesador de entidad (50,150) en cada entidad de nodo establece una media senda escucha entre sí mismo yel nucleo de conmutacion. Para cada entidad de nodo, el programa de vía decontrol de entidad establece el mismo VPI/VCI como la media senda escucha. El procesador de entidad entonces recibe en su media senda escucha establecidaindependientemente (esdecir, el VPI/VCI predeterminado) un pedido de comunicacion amiga. El pedido de comunicacion amiga (HR) incluye formacion que indica quémedia senda (por ej. qué otro VPI/VCI) puede usar la entidad de nodo como media senda de envío para enviar célulasde control al procesador principal de nodo.La entidad de nodo entonces responde al pedido de comunicacion amiga con un mensaje de respuesta (RM) enviado sobre la media senda de envío.
