Abstract

Una disposicion y un método para identificar electronicamente conexiones establecidas a través de una disposicion de conexiones cruzadas sirve para laidentificacion de todas las conexiones con cableado permanente y conexiones provisorias, y cualquiermodificacion efectuadas a conexiones de circuito deconexiones cruzadas resistentes. La identificacion de conexiones y la informacion de estado es adquirida en tiempo casi real y almacenada en una base de datosque es accesible por un usuario a travésde una interfaz de usuario gráfica. Los conductores de rastreo o con lámparas que conectan respectivos pares decircuitos de conexion cruzada son utilizados de una manera no convencional de modo que se forma un bus de exploracion. Las trayectorias desenales deinformacion establecidas a través de los circuitos de conexion cruzada que quedan inalterados. Una senal de exploracion es comunicada entre cada par decircuito de conexion cruzada por el conductor de rastreo. En caso de que se utilice un cordon de conexion provisoria para re-dirigir temporariamente unaconexion de senales, la senal de exploracion es transmitida por el conductor de blindaje o de vaina del cordon de conexion provisoria. La senal de exploracionproporciona identificacion yotra informacion referente al circuito transmisor. Un circuito que recibe la senal de exploracion comunica su informacion deidentificacion y la del circuito de transmision obtenido de la senal de exploracion a una computadora central. La informacionde identificacion adquirida porla computadora central proveniente de todos los circuitos de conexion cruzadas receptores proporciona informacion de identificacion y estado para todos loscircuitos dentro de la disposicion de conexiones cruzadas. En una realizacion, todos los circuitos de una disposicion de conexiones cruzadas son explorados yla informacion de identificacion es adquirida en el tiempo que se requiere para transmitir una unica cadena de bits de identificacion del circuito deconexiones cruzadas, independientemente de la cantidad total de circuitos de conexion cruzada incluidos dentro de la disposicion de conexiones cruzadas.
