Abstract

Una composicion para el tratamiento de mastitits físicamente y químicamente estable que comprende una parte acidificante y una parte de clorito,composicion que puede reducir en forma efectiva poblaciones microbianas en contacto con una superficie de teta y durante un período prolongado. Lacomposicion comprende: (a) una parte acidificante que comprende ingredientes orgánicos, comprendiendo tales ingredientes orgánicos: (i) aproximadamente 0,1a 15 partes en peso de un ácido débil antimicrr ro biano o una sal del mismo o una mezcla de los mismos; (ii) aproximadamente 0,1 a 15 partes en peso de un ácidoorgánico o inorgánico débil, o sales de los mismos, o mezclas de los mismos, siendo el ácido seleccionado del grupo formado por unác ido fosforico o ácidoláctico; y (iii) una mayor proporcion de agua; y (b) una parte de clorito, sustancialmente libre de un componente orgánico, consistente esencialmente deuna sal de metal alcalino de clorito; en donde la composicion exhibee una reología que promueve adhesion para inmovilizar la composicion sobre lasuperficie de la teta y provee una barrera contra la contaminacion ambiental.
