Abstract

Un montaje elastomérico o banda para colocar circunferencialmente alrededor de un segmento de abrasivo aglutinado del tipo generalmente usado para formarun conjunto de rueda pulidora segmentada de una pulidora de superficies rotativa. La banda sirve para amortiguar el contacto entre el segmento y elportaherramientas de la pulidora. La banda es provista con una circunferencia original o no-tensionada predeterminada y es deformable elásticamente a unacircunferencia mayor dentro de un rango de circunferencias predeterminado. Esta capacidad de deformarse elásticamente facilita la instalación sobre elsegmento y permite que una única banda sea usada con segmentos de varias medidas. La banda es preferiblemente instalada sobre un segmento que tiene unacircunferencia mayor que la circunferencia original de la banda de forma tal que la tensión en la banda instalada sirve para fijar mecánicamente la banda enposición sobre el mismo. Este ajuste mecánico permite al usuario moverfácilmente la banda a varias posiciones sobre el segmento a voluntad.
