Abstract
Un sistema y método para mejorar el rendimiento de las transferencias de una red celular de telecomunicaciones con un cambio de servicio y una celda deservicio, en el cual una estación móvil se acopla en una llamada. El sistema adapta unprimer período de tiempo de espera, durante el cual se recopilan lasmediciones de potencia de senal de múltiples celdas que constituyen las adyascencias de la celda de servicio. Un mecanismo de temporización variablemide períodos de tiempo apartir del momento en que se genera una petición de transferencia. El sistema luego regula el mecanismo de temporización variable,a fin de medir un período de tiempo especificado para cada una de las múltiples celdas, recopila las mediciones depotencia de senal durante el período detiempo especificado y procesa las mediciones de potencia de senal, cuando caduca el período de tiempo especificado. El sistema tambien adapta un segundoperíodo de tiempo de espera durante el cual secoloca en cola una petición de tranferencia de la estación móvil, mientras se aguarda un canal de vozdisponible de una celda destinataria para la transferencia. El sistema mide un valor por omisión para el segundo período de tiempo de espera,cambia elsegundo pe ríodo de tiempo de espera por omisión por un segundo período de tiempo de espera adaptado, en el cual hay máxima probabilidad de transferir unallamada asociada con la petición de transferencia y determina si la petición detransferencia se debe colocaar en cola durante el segundo período de tiempo deespera por omisión o el segundo período de tiempo de espera adaptado.
