An electrically-heated vessel e.g. a pot or kettle, having an inwardly protruding annular groove a in its bottom or side wall housing an electrical wire heating element b, has the groove a covered at its outside by heat insulation c, a metal ring d covering the insulation c. If the vessel is a kettle, it may be formed from a single sheet of material, and have a top aperture for a lid, or it may be a " closed kettle, i.e. the spout is the only aperture in its wall, in which case it is made from separate upper and lower parts, either of which may have the groove a, each part being formed from a single sheet of material.
