Abstract

755,128. Electrically heated cooking vessels. HAMILTON, J. March 10, 1955 [March 11, 1954], No. 7096/54. Class 39(3). A thermostatically controlled electric cooking vessel comprises a pot 10 removably contained in a casing 11, the spaces between the pot and the casing and between the lid sections 15, 16 being packed with fibre glass. A heating element 21 located in a fireclay moulding is secured to the bottom of the pot by a metal plate 26 through which pass rods 27 attached at the top to a transverse plate 29 screwed to a fibre ring 13. The element is controlled by a thermostat 22 fixed to the pot by a wire or metal band 32 and an indicator lamp 23 for showing when the current is switched on is visible through a window (not shown) in the casing 11. A heat insulating. fibre ring 18 separates the marginal portions of the lid sections and a further fibre ring 12 is fixed to a flange 10<SP>1</SP> of the pot. The ring 13, which is secured to the top of the inner wall of the casing 11, forms a seat for the ring 12 and constitutes a guide for the pot when removing or lowering it into the casing.
