Claims (36)

  1. Key unit for a lock system of a vehicle, having a transmitter for remotely controlling the lock system, an operating module which has an operating panel or a plurality of operating panels (9, 10, 11) for controlling the transmitter, an installation for opening and closing the lock system, wherein
    the operating panel or operating panels (9, 10, 11) is/are disposed so as to be recessed in the key unit,
    characterized by
    a modular construction, comprising a key container (1) which receives the installation for opening and closing the lock system and in which an elongate flat key is fastened in a pivotable manner, and an attachment (2) which is releasably connected to the key container (1).
  2. Key unit according to Claim 1,
    characterized in that
    the attachment (2) is connected to the key container (1) in a rotationally fixed manner.
  3. Key unit according to either of Claims 1 and 2,
    characterized in that
    the attachment (2) is connected so as to align with the key container (1).
  4. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the key container (1) and the attachment (2) have mutually adjacent faces.
  5. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the attachment (2) is fastened to the key container (1) by means of a snap-fit connection.
  6. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the key container (1) is configured so as to be integral.
  7. Key unit according to Claim 6,
    characterized in that
    the key container (1) comprises an upper moulding and a lower moulding (3, 4) which are interconnected by an integral hinge (5).
  8. Key unit according to Claim 7,
    characterized in that
    the integral hinge (5) in the case of the upper moulding and the lower moulding (3, 4) lying on top of one another forms a counter piece for the connection to the attachment (2).
  9. Key unit according to either of Claims 7 and 8,
    characterized in that
    the attachment (2) has a clip (32) for fastening the key unit to another object.
  10. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the key container (1) has a standard opening into which an operating module (8) is inserted.
  11. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the key container (1) has a receptacle (6) for a standard circuit board (7) for electronic installations of the key unit.
  12. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the installation for opening and closing the lock system comprises a transmitter for remotely actuating the lock system.
  13. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the installation for opening and closing the lock system comprises a mechanical key.
  14. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the attachment (2) comprises a clip (32) for fastening the key unit to another object.
  15. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the attachment (2) comprises an electronic interface (34).
  16. Key unit according to Claim 15,
    characterized in that
    the attachment (2) comprises a storage medium, and the interface (34) enables a transfer of data from an external apparatus to the storage medium.
  17. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the attachment (2) comprises a visible symbol (33) which identifies the vehicle type that is associated with the lock system.
  18. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the attachment (2) has a visible labelling (37) for identifying the vehicle that is associated with the lock system.
  19. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the key unit has a position-locating installation for locating the position of the key unit and for locating the position of the vehicle that is associated with the lock system.
  20. Key unit according to Claim 19,
    characterized in that
    the key unit comprises a display (40) which is connected to the position-locating installation.
  21. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the face of the key container (1) that is adjacent to the attachment (2) has an opening (47) of a battery compartment, wherein the opening (47) is not visible in the case of an interconnected key container (1) and attachment (2).
  22. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the key unit comprises a key container (1), the width thereof being larger than the height thereof, and has an outwardly pivotable key which is pivotably mounted in the key container (1), and in that the pivot axis of the key runs in the direction of the width of the key container (1).
  23. Key unit according to Claim 22,
    characterized in that
    the key comprises a key body (12) to which a key shank (13) is fastened, in that the key body (12) is pivotably mounted in a clearance of the end side of the key container (1) such that the key body (12) is visible on two sides of the key unit that face away from one another.
  24. Key unit according to Claim 23,
    characterized in that
    the clearance in the end side of the key container (1) transitions into a receptacle space (41) for the key shank (13), said receptacle space (41) being formed in the lower side of the key unit.
  25. Key unit according to Claim 24,
    characterized in that
    the clearance in the end side of the key container (1) and the receptacle space (41) for the key shank (13) in terms of width of the key container (1) are disposed so as to be centric.
  26. Key unit according to one of Claims 22 to 25,
    characterized in that
    the outwardly pivotable key displays an emblem.
  27. Key unit according to Claim 26,
    characterized in that
    the key body (12) displays the emblem.
  28. Key unit according to one of Claims 24 to 27,
    characterized in that
    the key in the non-use position thereof in which the key shank (13) is located in the receptacle space (41) of the key container (1) is secured against outward pivoting, and is unlatchable by an unlatching mechanism (15) that is disposed on the pivot axis.
  29. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the key unit comprises an elongate key container in which an elongate flat key is pivotably mounted, wherein the flat key in the non-use position thereof is retracted into a receptacle space in a lateral face of the key container, and wherein the width of the flat key is larger than the thickness of the flat key, and in that the pivot axis of the flat key runs in the direction of the width of the flat key.
  30. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the key unit comprises an elongate key container (1) which receives the transmitter and the operating module, and in that in each case at least one rib (43, 44) that in the direction of the normal of this face is raised beyond the operating panels (9, 10, 11) is formed externally in the longitudinal direction on that face of the key container (1) on which the operating panels (9, 10, 11) are operable.
  31. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the haptics of the surfaces of the operating panels are dissimilar.

    characterized in that
    the surfaces of the operating panels are dissimilar in terms of the roughness thereof.
  33. Key unit according to either of Claims 31 and 32,
    characterized in that
    the surfaces of the operating panels are composed of different materials.
  34. Key unit according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the key unit comprises an elongate key container in which an elongate flat key is pivotably mounted, wherein the flat key in the non-use position thereof is retracted into a receptacle space in a lateral face of the key container, and wherein the width of the flat key is larger than the thickness of the flat key, and
    in that
    - the pivot axis (45) of the flat key runs in the direction of the height of the flat key,
    - the proportions of the key shank (13) of flat key in the use position thereof and the proportions of the key container (1) have substantially the same orientation,
    - the receptacle space (46) is formed by a slotted receptacle on a longitudinal side of the key container, the key shank (13) being inwardly pivotable into said slotted receptacle.
  35. Key unit according to Claim 1,
    characterized in that
    the attachment (2) is assigned a keyboard panel (50) which is coverable by a keyboard lid (51) that is held on the key container (1) or the attachment (2).
  36. Key unit according to Claim 35,
    characterized in that
    the keyboard panel (50) is a component part of a remote control installation, for example for an independent stationary vehicle heater, for a garage door or gate opener, or for a telecommunications installation.
