Abstract

Uredjaj prema ovom pronalasku je sistem sa sudom za rastopljeni metal, za livenje rastopljenog metala. Sistem se sastoji od: (a) suda (1) koji sadrži rastopljeni metal (2) prilagodjenog da zadržava i izliva rastopljeni metal (2) za livenje, sud (1) ima unutrašnje površine (8), a rastopljeni metal formira gornju površinu (9); (b) uronjene uvodne mlaznice (3) koja izlazi ispod gornje površine (9); i (c) površinskog i/ili uronjenog člana (7, 11) modifikatora toka postavljenog izmedju barem jedne od unutrašnjih površina (8) i uronjene uvodne mlaznice (3). Površinski i/ili uronjeni modifikatori (7, 11) toka služe za ometanje formiranja talasa na gornjoj površini (9) rastopljenog metala (2). Ovaj pronalazak takodje uključuje i postupak za poboljšanje kvaliteta procesa kontinualnog livenja. [The apparatus of the present invention includes a molten metal vessel system for casting molten metal, the system comprising: (a) a vessel (1) containing molten metal (2) adapted to contain and dispense the molten metal (2) for casting, the vessel (1) having interior surfaces (8) and the molten metal forming an upper surface (9); (b) a submerged entry nozzle (3) exiting below the upper surface (9); and (c) a surface and/or a submerged flow modifier member (7, 11) disposed between at least one of the interior surfaces (8) and the submerged entry nozzle(3). The surface and/or submerged flow modifiers (7, 11) work to impede the formation of waves in the upper surface (9) of the molten metal (2). The present invention also includes a method for improving the quality of a continuous casting process.
