- VdF purification method disclosed herein makes it possible to efficiently remove components other than VdF (mainly ethylene) from a composition containing VdF as the main component, thereby obtaining highly pure VdF.
- VdF and ethylene have extremely low boiling points, separating and purifying them by distillation would require the entire distillation column to be subjected to ultra-high pressure, which is economically unfavorable, and methods other than distillation were sought.
- VdF and ethylene are both olefins with two carbon atoms and similar molecular sizes, it was anticipated that selective purification of VdF using the molecular sieve effect of an adsorbent would be difficult.
- the inventors discovered that by bringing a first fluid whose main component is VdF and further contains ethylene into contact with a specific adsorbent, ethylene can be efficiently removed and the mass ratio A of the VdF content to the total content of VdF and ethylene can be increased.
- Patent Document 1 only describes the separation of chlorofluoromethane and difluoromethane, and makes no mention of the separation of VdF and ethylene.

- VdF content There is no particular upper limit to the VdF content, and it is, for example, less than 99.5% by mass.
- VdF is not the main component and the first fluid contains many components other than VdF
- the adsorption of ethylene to the adsorbent may be hindered, and ethylene may be desorbed from the adsorbent.
- VdF is the main component in the first fluid
- the adsorption of ethylene to the adsorbent proceeds quickly, and the mass ratio A of the VdF content to the total content of VdF and ethylene can be increased. Even when a small amount of adsorbent is used, high-purity VdF can be efficiently obtained because VdF is the main component.

<第1流体>
