Definitions

  • This invention relates to an exchange device and a component mounting system, and more particularly to an exchange device and a component mounting system that exchanges cassettes that hold component supply tapes.
  • the above-mentioned Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open Publication No. 2021-064679 discloses a carrier tape supply device (exchange device) that replaces tape cassettes (cassette bodies) that hold carrier tape (component supply tape).
  • the carrier tape supply device supplies carrier tape to a component mounting device that mounts components on a board by replacing the tape cassette.
  • the carrier tape supply device is equipped with a cassette transfer mechanism that inserts and removes tape cassettes from the component mounting device.
  • the cassette transfer mechanism includes a cassette transfer head that holds the tape cassette, and a cassette transport mechanism that moves the cassette transfer head.
  • the cassette transport mechanism linearly moves the cassette transfer head (tape cassette) in the insertion/removal direction (the direction of insertion and removal) in a horizontal plane, and in a direction intersecting the insertion/removal direction in the horizontal plane.
  • the carrier tape supply device described in JP 2021-064679 A only moves the tape cassette linearly, so the tape cassette must be placed in the carrier tape supply device in the orientation in which it is to be placed in the component mounting device. This poses a problem: if the tape cassette is placed in the carrier tape supply device in an orientation other than the orientation in which it is to be placed in the component mounting device, it is difficult to properly replace the tape cassette.
  • This invention was made to solve the above-mentioned problems, and one object of this invention is to provide an exchange device and a component mounting system that can properly replace a cassette even when the cassette is placed in the exchange device in an orientation other than the orientation in which it is placed in the component mounting device.
  • a replacement device comprises a storage unit that stores a cassette holding a component supply tape, and an insertion/removal unit that moves the cassette between the storage unit and the component mounting device and inserts and removes it from the component mounting device.
  • the insertion/removal unit includes a hand unit that holds the cassette, a linear motion mechanism that moves the hand unit linearly at least in the insertion/removal direction, and a rotation mechanism that rotates the hand unit.
  • the insertion/extraction unit is provided with a rotation mechanism that rotates and moves the hand unit.
  • This allows the cassette held by the hand unit to be rotated by the rotation mechanism, thereby changing the orientation of the cassette to be placed in the component mounting device.
  • cassette replacement can be performed properly even when the cassette is placed in the exchange device in an orientation other than the orientation in which it is placed in the component mounting device.
  • cassette insertion and removal is performed with the exchange device positioned relative to the component mounting device, but there may be an error in positioning. In this case, the angle (pitch angle, yaw angle, roll angle, etc.) of the exchange device relative to the component mounting device may be slightly misaligned due to the positioning error.
  • the angle of the exchange device is slightly misaligned relative to the component mounting device, moving the hand unit linearly in the insertion/extraction direction will result in a positional shift of the hand unit due to the angular misalignment. Furthermore, the greater the linear movement of the hand unit in the insertion/extraction direction, the greater the positional shift of the hand unit due to the angular misalignment. Therefore, by rotating the hand unit so that the linear movement of the hand unit by the linear motion mechanism in the insertion/removal direction is reduced, the amount of positional deviation of the hand unit caused by angular deviation can be reduced. As a result, the positional accuracy of the hand unit can be improved.
  • the rotation mechanism preferably rotates the hand unit around a rotation axis extending in the up-down direction, the insertion/removal direction, or a left-right direction perpendicular to the up-down direction and the insertion/removal direction.
  • the hand unit can be rotated around a rotation axis extending in the up-down direction, the insertion/removal direction, or a left-right direction, to change the orientation of the cassette body for placement in the component mounting device.
  • the rotation mechanism preferably rotates the hand unit so that the linear movement of the hand unit in the insertion/removal direction caused by the linear motion mechanism is reduced.
  • This configuration reduces the amount of positional deviation of the hand unit due to angular deviation. As a result, the positional accuracy of the hand unit can be improved.
  • the rotation mechanism preferably rotates the hand unit 180 degrees around a rotation axis extending in the vertical direction so as to reduce the linear movement of the hand unit caused by the linear movement mechanism in the insertion/removal direction.
  • This configuration allows the hand unit to be rotated a fairly large amount, making it easy to reduce the linear movement of the hand unit caused by the linear movement mechanism in the insertion/removal direction.
  • the linear motion mechanism preferably includes an insertion/removal linear motion mechanism that moves the hand unit linearly in the insertion/removal direction, a vertical linear motion mechanism that moves the hand unit linearly in the vertical direction, and a horizontal linear motion mechanism that moves the hand unit linearly in the vertical direction and in the horizontal direction perpendicular to the insertion/removal direction.
  • This configuration allows the hand unit to move linearly in the insertion/removal direction, vertical direction, and horizontal direction, thereby improving the degree of freedom of linear movement of the hand unit.
  • the rotation mechanism is preferably attached to the linear motion mechanism, and the hand unit is attached to the rotation mechanism.
  • This configuration allows the hand unit to be rotated more compactly and the rotation mechanism to be made smaller than when the hand unit is attached to the rotation mechanism via a linear motion mechanism.
  • the hand unit preferably includes an engagement portion formed by a protrusion or recess that engages with the cassette body, and the cassette body is positioned and held by the engagement portion.
  • the engagement portion can be simplified by being formed by a protrusion or recess.
  • the cassette body can be positioned and held by the engagement portion with a simple configuration.
  • the engaging portion preferably has a tapered shape that tapers in the vertical direction, and the hand portion inserts and removes the cassette from the component mounting device while the cassette is floating above the engaging portion.
  • the hand unit preferably includes a floating mechanism that displaces the hand unit in response to an external force when the external force is applied to the cassette body.
  • the external force can be released by displacing the hand unit in response to the external force.
  • the load on the cassette body can be reduced compared to when a floating mechanism is not provided.
  • the floating mechanism displaces the hand unit in the insertion/removal direction, and further comprises a displacement detection unit provided on the hand unit that detects displacement of the hand unit caused by the floating mechanism, and a control unit, and the control unit determines whether the cassette body's installation completion position is correct based on the detection result of the displacement detection unit.
  • the floating mechanism can be effectively used to effectively determine whether the cassette body's installation completion position is correct. Furthermore, because it can be determined whether the cassette body's installation completion position is correct, any abnormality in the cassette body's installation completion position can be quickly addressed.
  • the exchange device preferably further comprises a presence/absence detection unit provided in the hand unit that detects the presence or absence of a cassette. With this configuration, it is possible to detect the absence of a cassette.
  • control unit which controls the operation to stop if the presence/absence detection unit detects that a cassette is not present while the hand unit is moving the cassette.
  • the storage section preferably includes a trunk to which multiple cassettes can be attached and detached. This configuration allows multiple cassettes to be transported at once, allowing for efficient supply and retrieval of cassettes from the exchange device.
  • the cassette body is preferably attached to an autoloading cassette feeder. This configuration allows for proper replacement of the cassette body attached to the autoloading cassette feeder.
  • a component mounting system comprises a component mounting device and an exchange device.
  • the exchange device includes a storage unit that stores a cassette holding a component supply tape, and an insertion/extraction unit that moves the cassette between the storage unit and the component mounting device and inserts and removes it from the component mounting device.

As a result, the load on the cassette 50 can be reduced compared to when the floating mechanisms 63 and 64 are not provided. Furthermore, when the cassettes 50 are arranged adjacent to each other in the vertical and horizontal directions, as in the first embodiment, as described above, a cassette 50 being moved by the hand unit 60 may interfere with an adjacent cassette 50 in the vertical or horizontal direction due to positioning errors, causing adverse effects.

Description

交換装置30は、たとえば、AGV(Automatic Guided Vehicle)を含んでいる。
