표시 장치에 관한 것이다.
표시 장치는 데이터를 시각적으로 표시하는 장치이다. 표시 장치는 표시 영역과 주변 영역(비표시 영역)으로 구획된 기판을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 표시 영역에는 스캔선과 데이터선이 상호 절연되어 형성되고, 복수의 화소들이 포함될 수 있다. 상기 표시 영역에는 상기 화소들 각각에 대응하여 박막 트랜지스터 및 상기 박막 트랜지스터와 전기적으로 연결되는 화소 전극이 구비될 수 있다. 또한, 상기 표시 영역에는 상기 화소들에 공통으로 구비되는 대향 전극이 구비될 수 있다. 주변 영역에는 표시영역에 전기적 신호를 전달하는 다양한 배선들, 스캔 구동부, 데이터 구동부, 제어부, 패드부 등이 구비될 수 있다.
양자점을 이용하여 표시 장치의 광 효율을 개선하는 방법으로 양자점의 사용량을 높이거나 양자점의 굴절률을 높이는 방법이 고려되고 있다.
광 효율이 향상되고, 잉크젯 제팅에 의해 제조 가능한 색변환 패턴을 갖는 표시 장치를 제공하는 것이다.
일 구현예에 따르면, 표시 장치가 제공된다.
1.상기 표시 장치는 비화소 영역을 사이에 두고 서로 이격되며 제1 색의 제1 화소들, 제2 색의 제2 화소들 및 제3 색의 제3 화소들을 포함하고, 제1 화소들, 제2 화소들 및 제3 화소들 각각에 대응하는 영역을 갖는 발광층; 상기 제1 화소들 중 어느 하나에 대응하는 발광층 상에 배치되며, 입사광을 제1 색의 빛으로 변환하는 제1 색변환 패턴; 및 상기 제2 화소들 중 어느 하나에 대응하는 발광층 상에 배치되며, 입사광을 제2 색의 빛으로 변환하는 제2 색변환 패턴을 구비하고, 상기 제1 색은 녹색이고, 상기 제1 색변환 패턴은 제1 양자점 및 제1 형광 염료를 포함하고, 상기 제1 형광 염료는 최대흡수파장이 350 내지 550nm이고 최대형광발광파장이 450 내지 650nm이다.
2. 1에 있어서, 상기 제1 형광 염료는 최대흡수파장이 400 내지 500nm이고, 최대형광발광파장이 550 내지 650nm 또는 500 내지 600nm인, 표시 장치.

상기 제1 색변환 패턴은 제1 색변환 패턴용 조성물의 잉크젯 제팅에 의해 형성될 수 있다. 잉크젯 제팅 방법은 당업자에게 알려진 통상의 방법에 의해 수행될 수 있다.

실시예 1
상기 녹색 양자점 및 모노머를 혼합하고 상온에서 12시간 동안 교반한다. 여기에 중합 금지제를 넣고 상온에서 5분 동안 교반한다. 이어서 광중합 개시제를 투입하고, 광산란제 및 제1 형광 염료를 넣고, 혼합하여 제1 색변환 패턴용 조성물(무용매형)을 제조한다. 하기 표 1은 각 성분의 고형분 함량(총합:100중량부)에 기초하여 나타낸 것이다.

제조된 조성물에 대해 아래 표 1의 물성을 평가하고 그 결과를 아래 표 2에 나타내었다.
(1)점도(단위: cps): 색변환 패턴용 조성물 각각에 대하여 점도계(Brookfield社 DV-Ⅱ, RV-2스핀들, 23 rpm)를 사용하여 25℃에서 점도값을 측정했다.
(2)EQE(외부 양자 효율, 단위: %): 유리 기판 위에 실시예 및 비교예에 해당하는 색변환 패턴용 조성물 각각을 2mL 도포한 후, 1500 rpm에서 스핀코팅하여 노광기(파장 395nm)에서 노광한다. 이후 적분반구 양자 효율 측정기(오츠카, QE-2000)에서 상기 유리기판 상의 단막(2cm x 2cm)에 대하여 EQE를 측정하였다.
이후, 180℃에서 30분간 질소 분위기에서 경화(POB)를 진행한 다음, 1시간 동안 냉각한다. 상기와 동일한 방법으로 EQE를 측정하였다.
노광 후 측정된 EQE에 대한 POB에서 측정된 EQE의 백분율을 유지율로 계산했다. 유지율이 높을수록 경화성 조성물로 형성된 색변환 패턴의 광 효율이 감소하지 않았음을 의미한다.

상기 표 2에 의하면, 실시예의 경우 제1 형광 염료를 투입하지 않은 비교예 1과 비교했을 때 염료 투입에 의해 점도 변화는 증가하지 않는 반면 POB 이후 유지율의 증가가 현저히 나타남을 알 수 있다. 이것은 단막의 EQE를 증가시키기 위해 양자점의 함량을 증가시켰을 경우 나타나는 점도 증가로 인한 공정성의 하락을 극복할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 실시예의 경우 제1 형광 염료 대신에 제1 형광 염료의 최대흡수파장 및 최대형광 발광파장을 벗어나는 형광 염료를 투입한 비교예 2 대비 POB 이후 유지율의 증가가 현저히 나타남을 알 수 있다.
본 발명의 단순한 변형 내지 변경은 이 분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자에 의하여 용이하게 실시될 수 있으며, 이러한 변형이나 변경은 모두 본 발명의 영역에 포함되는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

Claims (18)

  1. 비화소 영역을 사이에 두고 서로 이격되며, 제1 색의 제1 화소들, 제2 색의 제2 화소들 및 제3 색의 제3 화소들을 포함하는 표시 장치에 있어서,
    제1 화소들, 제2 화소들 및 제3 화소들 각각에 대응하는 영역을 갖는 발광층;
    상기 제1 화소들 중 어느 하나에 대응하는 발광층 상에 배치되며, 입사광을 제1 색의 빛으로 변환하는 제1 색 변환 패턴; 및 상기 제2 화소들 중 어느 하나에 대응하는 발광층 상에 배치되며, 입사광을 제2 색의 빛으로 변환하는 제2 색변환 패턴을 구비하고,
    상기 제1 색은 녹색이고, 상기 제1 색변환 패턴은 제1 양자점 및 제1 형광 염료를 포함하고,
    상기 제1 형광 염료는 최대흡수파장이 350 내지 550nm이고 최대형광발광파장이 450 내지 650nm인, 표시 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 형광 염료는 최대흡수파장이 400 내지 500nm이고, 최대형광발광파장이 550 내지 650nm 또는 500 내지 600nm인, 표시 장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 형광 염료는 금속을 함유하지 않는 형광 염료인, 표시 장치.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 형광 염료는 페릴렌계, 코로넨계, 쿠마린계, 크산텐계, 퀴논-이민계, 아크리딘계, 안트라센계, 아조계, 나프탈렌계, 옥사졸계, 벤조피롤계, 디피로메탄계, BODIPY계 중 1종 이상의 염료를 포함하는, 표시 장치.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 형광 염료는 아래 화학식 1의 페릴렌계 염료를 포함하는 표시 장치:

    R11 내지 R18은 각각 독립적으로 수소, 중수소, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알킬기, 시아노기, 할로겐, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알콕시기, 또는 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 6 내지 10의 아릴기이고,
    L11 내지 L14는 각각 독립적으로 단일 결합, -(C=O)O-, -O-, 에스테르기, 에테르기, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알킬렌기, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알콕시렌기, 또는 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 6 내지 10의 아릴렌기이고
    L15 내지 L18은 각각 독립적으로 치환 또는 비치환된 직쇄 또는 분지쇄의 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알킬기, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 6 내지 10의 아릴기 또는 시아노기이거나, 또는
    L15와 L16은 서로 연결되어 탄소수 6 내지 20의 아릴기를 갖는 고리를 형성하거나, 또는
    L17과 L18은 서로 연결되어 탄소수 6 내지 20의 아릴기를 갖는 고리를 형성하고,
    a1 내지 a4는 각각 독립적으로 0 내지 5의 정수
    b1 내지 b4는 각각 독립적으로 0 내지 5의 정수,
    b1 내지 b4의 총합은 3을 초과함).
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 형광 염료는 아래 화학식 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5 중 1종 이상을 포함하는, 표시 장치:

  7. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 형광 염료는 상기 제1 색변환 패턴 중 0.1 내지 0.5중량%로 포함되는, 표시 장치.
  8. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 형광 염료는 상기 제1 양자점 100중량부에 대하여 0.001 내지 10중량부로 포함되는, 표시 장치.
  9. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 양자점은 상기 제1 색변환 패턴 중 20 내지 60중량%로 포함되는, 표시 장치.
  10. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 양자점은 500nm 내지 680nm에서 최대형광 발광파장을 갖는, 표시 장치.
  11. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 색변환 패턴은 고형분 기준으로 제1 양자점 20 내지 60중량%, 제1 형광 염료 0.1 내지 2중량%, 중합 금지제 0.1 내지 5중량%, 계면 활성제 0.1 내지 5중량%, 광중합 개시제 0.1 내지 5중량%, 제1 모노머 10 내지 60중량%, 제1 산란제 2 내지 20중량%를 포함하는 제1 색변환 패턴용 조성물의 경화물을 포함하는, 표시 장치.
  12. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제2 색변환 패턴은 제2 양자점 및 최대흡수파장이 350 내지 650nm이고 최대형광발광파장이 450 내지 750nm인 제2 형광 염료를 포함하는, 표시 장치.
  13. 제11항에 있어서, 상기 제2 형광 염료는 페릴렌계, 쿠마린계, 크산텐계, 퀴논-이민계, 아크리딘계, 아조계, 나프탈렌계, 옥사졸계, 벤조피롤계, 디피로메탄계, BODIPY계 중 1종 이상의 염료를 포함하는, 표시 장치.
  14. 제11항에 있어서, 상기 제2 형광 염료는 아래 화학식 2의 페릴렌계 염료를 포함하는, 표시 장치:

    R19 내지 R34는 각각 독립적으로 수소, 중수소, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알킬기, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 6 내지 10의 아릴기이고,
    L21 및 L22는 각각 독립적으로 치환 또는 비치환된 직쇄 또는 분지쇄의 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알킬기, 또는 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 6 내지 10의 아릴기이다).
  15. 제14항에 있어서, 상기 제2 형광 염료는 아래 화학식 2-1, 2-2, 2-3 중 1종 이상을 포함하는 표시 장치:

  17. 제16항에 있어서, 상기 제1 컬러 필터는 상기 제1 형광 염료를 함유하지 않는, 표시 장치.
  18. 제16항에 있어서, 상기 제2 컬러 필터는 형광 염료를 함유하지 않는, 표시 장치.
