Description
本開示は、種子組成物に関する。
植物(野菜や果樹等)を効率的に成長させるため、従来から様々な検討が行われている。例えば、特許文献1には、植物成長用の植物活力剤としての少なくとも1つのリポペプチドの使用が開示されている。
特許文献1では、リポペプチドの量、特に種子に対する量については何らの検討が行われていなかった。
本開示は、通常の種子と比べて優れた成長能力を有する、種子組成物を提供することを目的とする。
本実施形態の態様例は、以下の通りに記載される。
[1] 種子及びバイオサーファクタントを含む種子組成物であり、
前記種子100質量%に対して、前記バイオサーファクタントを0.25×10-4~2.0×10-2質量%含む、種子組成物。
[2] 前記バイオサーファクタントが、サーファクチン、ラムノリピッド、ソホロリピッド、及びそれらの塩から選択される少なくとも1種のバイオサーファクタントである、[1]に記載の種子組成物。

以下、本発明を詳細に説明する。
本実施形態に係る種子組成物は、種子及びバイオサーファクタントを含む種子組成物であり、前記種子100質量%に対して、前記バイオサーファクタントを0.25×10-4~2.0×10-2質量%含む。本開示の種子組成物は、通常の種子と比べて優れた成長能力を有する。なお、種子組成物が、優れた成長能力を有するとは、例えば播種等を行い、発芽させた後の生育が、通常の種子と比べて早いこと、通常の種子と比べて大きく育つことの少なくとも一方を意味する。
本実施形態に係る種子組成物は、種子及びバイオサーファクタントを含む種子組成物であり、前記種子100質量%に対して、前記バイオサーファクタントを0.25×10-4~2.0×10-2質量%含む。本開示の種子組成物は、通常の種子と比べて優れた成長能力を有する。なお、種子組成物が、優れた成長能力を有するとは、例えば播種等を行い、発芽させた後の生育が、通常の種子と比べて早いこと、通常の種子と比べて大きく育つことの少なくとも一方を意味する。
<種子>
前記種子組成物は、種子を含む。種子としては特に制限されず、好ましくは作物植物の種子であり、より好ましくは食用植物の種子である。作物植物としては、トウモロコシ(corn、maize)、コムギ、オオムギ、ライムギ、オートムギ、イネ、ダイズ、カノーラ(セイヨウアブラナ)、綿、ヒマワリ、サトウダイコン、ジャガイモ、タバコ、ブロッコリー、レタス、キャベツ、ホウレンソウ、コマツナ、カリフラワー、ココナッツ、トマト、キュウリ、ナス、メロン、カボチャ、オクラ、ピーマン、スイカ、ニンジン、ダイコン、タマネギ、ネギ、果樹、花卉類、芝、牧草等が例示できる。
前記種子組成物は、種子を含む。種子としては特に制限されず、好ましくは作物植物の種子であり、より好ましくは食用植物の種子である。作物植物としては、トウモロコシ(corn、maize)、コムギ、オオムギ、ライムギ、オートムギ、イネ、ダイズ、カノーラ(セイヨウアブラナ)、綿、ヒマワリ、サトウダイコン、ジャガイモ、タバコ、ブロッコリー、レタス、キャベツ、ホウレンソウ、コマツナ、カリフラワー、ココナッツ、トマト、キュウリ、ナス、メロン、カボチャ、オクラ、ピーマン、スイカ、ニンジン、ダイコン、タマネギ、ネギ、果樹、花卉類、芝、牧草等が例示できる。
<バイオサーファクタント>
前記種子組成物は、バイオサーファクタントを含む。バイオサーファクタントとしては、ペプチド型バイオサーファクタント及び糖型バイオサーファクタントから選択される少なくとも1種のバイオサーファクタントが挙げられる。前記種子組成物は、バイオサーファクタントを1種単独で含んでいても、2種以上で含んでいてもよい。前記種子組成物は、バイオサーファクタントを含むため、通常の種子と比べて優れた成長能力を有する。
前記種子組成物は、バイオサーファクタントを含む。バイオサーファクタントとしては、ペプチド型バイオサーファクタント及び糖型バイオサーファクタントから選択される少なくとも1種のバイオサーファクタントが挙げられる。前記種子組成物は、バイオサーファクタントを1種単独で含んでいても、2種以上で含んでいてもよい。前記種子組成物は、バイオサーファクタントを含むため、通常の種子と比べて優れた成長能力を有する。
前記種子組成物は、バイオサーファクタントを含むため、優れた成長能力を有する。この理由は明らかではないが、合成界面活性剤を用いても該効果は観察されず、バイオサーファクタント特有の効果であった。
なお、前記種子組成物において、バイオサーファクタントとしては、Wickerhamomyces anomalus酵母に由来しないバイオサーファクタントを用いることが臭気、食品衛生の観点から好ましい。
ペプチド型バイオサーファクタントとしては、リポペプチドバイオサーファクタントが挙げられる。リポペプチドバイオサーファクタントは、疎水性基と、親水性部分を含むペプチドを有し、界面活性作用を示すものであり、微生物が生産するものをいう。リポペプチドバイオサーファクタントとしては、例えば、サーファクチン、アルスロファクチン、イチュリン、フェンジシン、セラウェッチン、ライケシン、ビスコシン、及びそれらの塩を挙げることができる。
ペプチド型バイオサーファクタントとしては、サーファクチン、及びその塩から選択される少なくとも1種のペプチド型バイオサーファクタントが好ましい。サーファクチン及びサーファクチンの塩は、以下の一般式(1)で表すことができる。サーファクチン及びサーファクチンの塩としては、1種を用いても2種以上を用いてもよい。
なお、M+が水素イオンである場合とは、CO2
‐(M+)が、ヒドロキシル基(COOH基)であることを意味する。二つのM+が水素イオンである場合が、サーファクチンであり、少なくとも一方のM+がアルカリ金属イオン、アンモニウムイオン又はピリジニウムイオンである場合が、サーファクチンの塩を意味する。サーファクチンの一般式を以下の一般式(1’)に示す。
Xは、ロイシン、イソロイシンおよびバリンから選択されるアミノ酸の残基であるが、L体のアミノ酸の残基であっても、D体のアミノ酸の残基であってもよく、L体のアミノ酸の残基が好ましい。
Rは炭素数9~18のアルキル基であり、炭素数9以上、18以下の直鎖状または分枝鎖状の一価飽和炭化水素基である。炭素数9~18のアルキル基としては、例えば、n-ノニル基、6-メチルオクチル基、7-メチルオクチル基、n-デシル基、8-メチルノニル基、n-ウンデシル基、9-メチルデシル基、n-ドデシル基、10-メチルウンデシル基、n-トリデシル基、11-メチルドデシル基、n-テトラデシル基、n-ペンタデシル基、n-ヘキサデシル基、n-ヘプタデシル基、n-オクタデシル基等が挙げられ、10-メチルウンデシル基が好ましい。
M+はそれぞれ独立に、水素イオン(H+)、アルカリ金属イオン、アンモニウムイオン又はピリジニウムイオンである。アルカリ金属イオンは特に限定されないが、リチウムイオン、ナトリウムイオン、カリウムイオン等を表す。アンモニウムイオンとしては、特に限定されないが、例えばN(R1)4
+で表されるアンモニウムイオンが挙げられる。R1はそれぞれ独立に、水素、又は有機基を示す。アンモニウムイオンとしては、R1が全て有機基である、第四級アンモニウムイオンが好ましい態様の一つである。有機基としては、アルキル基、アラルキル基、アリール基等が挙げられる。具体的には、アルキル基としては、メチル、エチル、n-プロピル、イソプロピル、n-ブチル、t-ブチル等の炭素数1~10のアルキル基が挙げられ、アラルキル基としては、ベンジル、メチルベンジル、フェニルエチル等の炭素数7~12のアラルキル基が挙げられ、アリール基としては、フェニル、トルイル、キシリル等の炭素数6~15のアリール基が挙げられる。アンモニウムイオンとしては、例えば、テトラメチルアンモニウムイオン、テトラエチルアンモニウムイオン等が挙げられる。ピリジニウムイオンとしては、特に制限されない。ピリジニウムイオンとしては、ピリジン環を構成する炭素原子に結合する水素原子が、有機基で置換されていてもよい。また、ピリジニウムイオンとしては、ピリジン環を構成するN+に結合するのは、例えば、水素又は有機基であればよい。なお、ピリジニウムイオンが有する有機基としては、R1の説明で挙げた有機基を適宜用いることができる。
一般式(1)中に存在する2つのM+は、互いに同一でもよく、異なっていてもよい。一般式(1)中に存在する2つのM+としては、例えば一部のM+が水素イオンであり、一部のM+がアルカリ金属イオンであることが好ましい態様の一つである。アルカリ金属イオンは特に限定されないが、リチウムイオン、ナトリウムイオン、カリウムイオン等を表す。なお、一般式(1)中に存在する2つのM+が、二種以上のイオンである場合には、ある一分子(塩)に着目した場合には、2つのM+が同種のイオンであってもよい。M+が二種のイオンである場合には、あるイオンAと、あるイオンBとの比(モル比)は、例えば、1:10~10:1であり、好ましくは1:5~5:1であり、より好ましくは1:3~3:1である。一般式(1)中に存在する2つのM+の一部が水素イオンであり、一部がナトリウムイオン(Na+)であることは好ましい態様の一つである。
サーファクチン又はサーファクチンの塩等のペプチド型バイオサーファクタントは、公知の方法に従って、微生物、例えば枯草菌(Bacillus subtilis)に属する菌株を培養し、その培養液から分離することにより入手することができ、精製品を使用してもよく、未精製、例えば培養液、のまま使用することもできる。また、分子構造が同一であれば、化学合成法によって得られるものでも同様に使用することができる。また、市販品を使用することもできる。
糖型バイオサーファクタントとしては、ラムノリピッド、ソホロリピッド、マンノシルエリスリトールリピッド、セロビオースリピッド、トレハロースリピッド、サクシノイルトレハロースリピッド、グルコースリピッド、ポリオールリピッド、オリゴ糖脂肪酸エステル、及びそれらの塩等が挙げられる。
糖型バイオサーファクタントとしては、ラムノリピッド、ソホロリピッド、及びそれらの塩から選択される少なくとも1種の糖型バイオサーファクタントが好ましい。
糖型バイオサーファクタントは、公知の方法に従って、入手することができる。また、市販品を使用することもできる。
前記バイオサーファクタントとしては、サーファクチン、ラムノリピッド、ソホロリピッド、及びそれらの塩から選択される少なくとも1種のバイオサーファクタントが好ましい態様として挙げられる。また、前記バイオサーファクタントとしては、サーファクチン及びその塩から選択される少なくとも1種のバイオサーファクタントが特に好ましい態様として挙げられる。
<ダイズ粕分解物>
前記種子組成物は、ダイズ粕(Soybean meal)分解物を含んでいてもよい。前記種子組成物が、ダイズ粕分解物を含む場合には、バイオサーファクタントの濃度が低い場合でも、種子組成物が優れた成長能力を有するため好ましい。

ダイズ粕分解物は、例えば、バチルス属細菌を用いて、ダイズ粕をバチルス発酵処理することにより得ることができる。
<添加剤>
前記種子組成物は、上述の種子、バイオサーファクタント、及びダイズ粕分解物以外の成分を、必要に応じて添加剤として含んでいてもよい。前記種子組成物は、添加剤を1種含んでいても、2種以上含んでいてもよい。添加剤としては、増粘剤、保湿剤、着色剤、消泡剤、UV保護剤、凍結防止剤、保存剤、生物学的制御剤もしくは殺生物剤、乳化剤、捕捉剤、可塑剤、リン脂質、流動剤、融合助剤、ろう、分散剤、及び/又は植物の生育に必要な元素(例として、Mo、Co、B、Fe、Cu、Zn、Mn、S、Mg、Ca、N、P、及びKからなる群から選択される1種以上)が挙げられるが、これらに限定されるものではない。
前記種子組成物は、上述の種子、バイオサーファクタント、及びダイズ粕分解物以外の成分を、必要に応じて添加剤として含んでいてもよい。前記種子組成物は、添加剤を1種含んでいても、2種以上含んでいてもよい。添加剤としては、増粘剤、保湿剤、着色剤、消泡剤、UV保護剤、凍結防止剤、保存剤、生物学的制御剤もしくは殺生物剤、乳化剤、捕捉剤、可塑剤、リン脂質、流動剤、融合助剤、ろう、分散剤、及び/又は植物の生育に必要な元素(例として、Mo、Co、B、Fe、Cu、Zn、Mn、S、Mg、Ca、N、P、及びKからなる群から選択される1種以上)が挙げられるが、これらに限定されるものではない。
<種子組成物>
前記種子組成物は、上述のように種子及びバイオサーファクタントを含む種子組成物であり、前記種子100質量%に対して、前記バイオサーファクタントを0.25×10-4~2.0×10-2質量%含む。

なお、本開示において、ある成分を「実質的に含まない」とは、種子組成物に含まれるバイオサーファクタントを100質量部としたとき、該成分が0.01質量部以下であることを意味し、好ましくは該成分が0.001質量部以下であることを意味する。
前記種子組成物は、前記種子100質量%に対して、前記バイオサーファクタントを0.3×10-4~1.5×10-2質量%含んでいてもよく、0.35×10-4~1.3×10-2質量%含んでいてもよく、0.4×10-4~1.1×10-2質量%含んでいてもよい。
前記種子組成物が、ダイズ粕分解物を実質的に含まない場合には、前記バイオサーファクタントを、前記種子100質量%に対して、0.4×10-4~6.0×10-3質量%含むことが好ましく、0.45×10-4~5.3×10-3質量%含むことがより好ましく、2.0×10-4~5.2×10-3質量%含むことが更に好ましく、4.5×10-4~5.1×10-3質量%含むことが特に好ましい。前記範囲内では、種子組成物が特に優れた成長能力を有するため好ましい。
前記種子組成物が、前記バイオサーファクタント及びダイズ粕分解物を含むことが好ましい態様の一つである。前記種子組成物が、前記バイオサーファクタント及びダイズ粕分解物を含む場合には、前記バイオサーファクタントを、前記種子100質量%に対して、0.3×10-4~5.5×10-3質量%含むことが好ましく、0.35×10-4~2×10-3質量%含むことがより好ましく、0.4×10-4~8.0×10-4質量%含むことが更に好ましく、4.5×10-4~6.0×10-4質量%含むことが特に好ましい。前記範囲内では、種子組成物が特に優れた成長能力を有するため好ましい。前記種子組成物が、前記バイオサーファクタント及びダイズ粕分解物を含む場合には、前記ダイズ粕分解物を、前記種子100質量%に対して、0.3×10-4~3×10-2質量%含むことが好ましく、1×10-4~2.6×10-2質量%含むことがより好ましく、5×10-4~1.3×10-2質量%含むことが更に好ましく、2×10-3~8×10-3質量%含むことが特に好ましく、4×10-3~6×10-3質量%含むことが最も好ましい。前記種子組成物が、前記バイオサーファクタント及びダイズ粕分解物を含む場合には、前記バイオサーファクタント及びダイズ粕分解物を、(バイオサーファクタント/ダイズ粕分解物)の質量比で、0.001~183含むことが好ましく、0.001~20含むことがより好ましく、0.003~1.6含むことが更に好ましく、0.01~1含むことが特に好ましい。前記範囲では、種子組成物を製造する際のハンドリングにも優れる傾向があり好ましい。
前記種子組成物は、バイオサーファクタントを含み、ダイズ粕分解物を含んでいてもよく、添加剤を含んでいてもよい。前記種子組成物において、これらの成分は種子の表面に存在してもよく、種子への浸透等により、種子の内部に存在してもよく、一部が種子の表面に存在し、一部が種子の内部に存在してもよい。
前記種子組成物の製造方法としては特に制限はないが、例えば、種子組成物を構成する成分の中の種子以外の成分、即ちバイオサーファクタント、並びに任意に用いられるダイズ粕分解物及び添加剤を、水等に溶解又は分散させることにより、コーティング溶液を調製し、該コーティング溶液を用いて種子表面を被覆することにより、種子組成物を調製する方法が挙げられる。コーティング溶液を調製する際に用いる水等の液体としては、水、有機溶媒、水と有機溶媒との混合溶媒が挙げられ、水が好ましい態様の一つである。
コーティング溶液を調製する際に水を用いる場合には、種子の吸水性に応じて水の量を調整することができる。例えば、吸水性が低い種子(例えば、コーン、ダイズ、コムギ等)の場合には、水の量は、種子1トンに対してコーティング溶液が8L~10Lになるように調整することが好ましい。例えば、吸水性が中程度の種子(例えば、オオムギ、イネ、油糧用ナタネ、オーツ麦等)の場合には、水の量は、種子1トンに対してコーティング溶液が10L~12Lになるように調整することが好ましい。例えば、吸水性が高い種子(サトウダイコン、ホウレンソウ等)の場合には、水の量は、種子1トンに対してコーティング溶液が12L~150Lになるように調整することが好ましい。水は、必要に応じて、その後乾燥させる。
以下、実施例を挙げて本実施形態を説明するが、本開示はこれらの例によって限定されるものではない。
なお、本実施例において「SF」とは、サーファクチンNa(製品名カネカ・サーファクチン、カネカ製)を意味し、「ダイズ粕分解物」とは、APPLIED AND ENVIRONMENTAL MICROBIOLOGY, Jan. 1994, pp. 243-247に従い、ダイズ粕をバチルス発酵処理して製造するペプチド系素材を意味し、「SL」とは、ソホロリピッド(Journal of Oleo Science, 60, (5) pp.267-273 (2011)に従い調製したもの)を意味する。
[実験例1]
以下に示すように、種子組成物を調製し、通常条件下でのコーンの栽培を行った。

9cmポットに培土を充填し、種子組成物(コーティング処理したコーン種子)を1粒/ポット播種した。播種後に日中24℃/14時間、夜間18℃/10時間に設定した閉鎖系温室で管理し、播種21日後に生育状況の調査を行った。調査は地上部乾燥重、地下部乾燥重を測定することにより行った。試験は12反復実施し平均値を求めた。
表1に実験例1の地上部乾燥重及び地下部乾燥重を足し合せた総乾燥重の測定結果を示す。表1においてSF及びダイズ粕分解物の使用量が0g/MT-seedであるものは、上述のコーティング処理を行っていないコーン種子を用いた。なお、表1では、地上部乾燥重及び地下部乾燥重を足し合せた総乾燥重を、SF及びダイズ粕分解物の使用量が0g/MT-seedであるコーン種子の地上部乾燥重及び地下部乾燥重を足し合せた総乾燥重を100とした際の相対値(%)で示した。
表1より、本開示の種子組成物は、通常の種子と比べて優れた成長能力を有することが示された。バイオサーファクタントと、ダイズ粕分解物を含む種子組成物において、特に優れた成長能力を示す傾向があった。

表4より、本開示の種子組成物は、塩ストレス条件下においても通常の種子と比べて優れた成長能力を有することが示された。バイオサーファクタントとしてはソホロリピッドと比べ、サーファクチンNaはより優れていた。また、ダイズ粕分解物を含む種子組成物において、特に優れた成長能力を示す傾向があった。
