Description

磁気冷凍ユニット及び冷凍装置
 本開示は、磁気冷凍ユニット及び冷凍装置に関するものである。
 特許文献1には、周状に複数の磁石が配置された円板と、複数の磁石がそれぞれ対向するように間隔をあけて円板を積層することによって形成される磁場作用空間に配置された磁気作業物質と、円板が固定された回転軸(シャフト)を回転させる駆動機構と、を備えた回転磁場発生装置が開示されている。

 ところで、回転軸の軸方向に3つ以上の磁石を配置し、磁石間に配置された磁気作業物質に磁場を印加する場合に、起磁力が同じ磁石を用いると、磁気作業物質が必要とする印加磁場強度に対して、磁石量が過剰になり、コストが増大するという問題がある。
 本開示の目的は、必要最低限な磁石量で、磁気作業物質に対して適切な磁場を印加できるようにすることにある。
 本開示の第1の態様は、回転軸(16)と、前記回転軸(16)の軸方向に間隔をあけて配置され、前記回転軸(16)とともに回転する2つの第1回転体(21)と、2つの前記第1回転体(21)の間に配置され、前記回転軸(16)とともに回転する第2回転体(22)と、前記第1回転体(21)と前記第2回転体(22)との間に配置された第1磁気作業物質(13)と、前記第1回転体(21)に設けられ、前記回転軸(16)の軸方向に対向して前記第1磁気作業物質(13)に磁場を印加する第1磁石(31)と、前記第2回転体(22)に設けられ、前記回転軸(16)の軸方向に対向して前記第1磁気作業物質(13)に磁場を印加する第2磁石(32)と、を備え、前記第1磁石(31)の起磁力F1、前記第2磁石(32)の起磁力F2が、F1<F2<2×F1という条件を満たす磁気冷凍ユニットである。
 第1の態様では、第1磁石(31)の起磁力と、第2磁石(32)の起磁力とを適切に設定することで、必要最低限な磁石量で、第1磁気作業物質(13)に対して適切な磁場を印加することができ、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)のコスト低減を図ることができる。
 本開示の第2の態様は、第1の態様の磁気冷凍ユニットにおいて、前記第2回転体(22)は、前記回転軸(16)の軸方向に間隔をあけて2つ以上設けられ、2つの前記第2回転体(22)の間に配置された第2磁気作業物質(14)を備える。
 第2の態様では、第2回転体(22)を複数設けることで、第2磁気作業物質(14)に対して磁場を印加することができる。
 本開示の第3の態様は、第1又は2の態様の磁気冷凍ユニットにおいて、前記第1磁石(31)及び前記第2磁石(32)は、保磁力が同じ材料で構成され、前記第1磁石(31)の厚みt1、前記第2磁石(32)の厚みt2が、t1<t2<2×t1という条件を満たす。
 第3の態様では、第1磁石(31)の厚みと、第2磁石(32)の厚みとを適切に設定することで、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)の起磁力を変更することができる。
 本開示の第4の態様は、第1又は2の態様の磁気冷凍ユニットにおいて、前記第1磁石(31)及び前記第2磁石(32)は、巻線(40)に通電することで起磁力を生ずる電磁石(50)で構成され、前記第1磁石(31)と前記第2磁石(32)とは、前記巻線(40)のターン数及び通電する電流値の少なくとも一方が異なる。
 第4の態様では、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)の巻線(40)のターン数、及び通電する電流値の少なくとも一方を適切に設定することで、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)の起磁力を変更することができる。
 本開示の第5の態様は、第1~4の態様の何れか1つの磁気冷凍ユニット(10)と、前記磁気冷凍ユニット(10)と熱交換する熱媒体回路(2)と、を備えた冷凍装置である。
 第5の態様では、磁気冷凍ユニット(10)と、熱媒体回路(2)と、を備えた冷凍装置を提供することができる。

 《実施形態1》
 図1に示すように、冷凍装置(1)は、熱媒体回路(2)を備える。冷凍装置(1)は、例えば、空気調和装置に適用される。熱媒体回路(2)には、熱媒体が充填される。熱媒体は、例えば、冷媒、水、ブラインなどを含む。
 冷凍装置(1)は、低温側熱交換器(3)と、高温側熱交換器(4)と、ポンプ(5)と、磁気冷凍ユニット(10)と、を備える。磁気冷凍ユニット(10)は、磁気熱量効果を利用して熱媒体の温度を調節する。
 熱媒体回路(2)は、閉ループ状に形成される。熱媒体回路(2)には、ポンプ(5)、低温側熱交換器(3)、磁気冷凍ユニット(10)、高温側熱交換器(4)が順に接続される。
 熱媒体回路(2)は、低温側流路(2a)と、高温側流路(2b)とを含む。低温側流路(2a)は、磁気冷凍ユニット(10)の温調流路(10a)と、ポンプ(5)の第1ポート(6a)とを接続する。高温側流路(2b)は、磁気冷凍ユニット(10)の温調流路(10a)と、ポンプ(5)の第2ポート(6b)とを接続する。
 〈低温側熱交換器及び高温側熱交換器〉
 低温側熱交換器(3)は、磁気冷凍ユニット(10)で冷却された熱媒体と、所定の冷却対象(例えば、二次冷媒や空気など)とを熱交換させる。高温側熱交換器(4)は、磁気冷凍ユニット(10)で加熱された熱媒体と、所定の加熱対象(例えば、二次冷媒や空気など)とを熱交換させる。
 〈ポンプ〉
 ポンプ(5)は、第1動作と、第2動作とを交互に繰り返し行う。第1動作では、熱媒体回路(2)の熱媒体を図1で左方向に搬送する。第2動作では、熱媒体回路(2)の熱媒体を図1で右方向に搬送する。ポンプ(5)は、熱媒体回路(2)の熱媒体を往復的に流動させる搬送機構を構成する。
 ポンプ(5)は、往復式のピストンポンプで構成される。ポンプ(5)は、ポンプケース(6)と、ピストン(7)とを備える。
 ピストン(7)は、ポンプケース(6)の内部で進退可能に配置される。ピストン(7)は、ポンプケース(6)の内部を、第1室(S1)と第2室(S2)とに仕切る。ポンプケース(6)には、第1ポート(6a)と、第2ポート(6b)とが形成される。第1ポート(6a)は、第1室(S1)に連通する。第1ポート(6a)は、低温側流路(2a)に接続される。第2ポート(6b)は、第2室(S2)に連通する。第2ポート(6b)は、高温側流路(2b)に接続される。ピストン(7)は、駆動機構(図示省略)によって駆動される。
 第1動作では、ピストン(7)が第1ポート(6a)側に移動する。第1動作では、第1室(S1)の容積が小さくなり且つ第2室(S2)の容積が大きくなる。この結果、第1室(S1)の熱媒体が第1ポート(6a)を通じて低温側流路(2a)に吐出される。同時に高温側流路(2b)の熱媒体が第2ポート(6b)を通じて第2室(S2)に吸い込まれる。
 第2動作では、ピストン(7)が第2ポート(6b)側に移動する。第2動作では、第2室(S2)の容積が小さくなり且つ第1室(S1)の容積が大きくなる。この結果、第2室(S2)の熱媒体が第2ポート(6b)を通じて高温側流路(2b)に吐出される。同時に低温側流路(2a)の熱媒体が第1ポート(6a)を通じて第1室(S1)に吸い込まれる。
 〈制御部〉
 冷凍装置(1)は、制御部(8)を備える。制御部(8)は、所定の運転指令に応じて、ポンプ(5)及び磁気冷凍ユニット(10)の動作を制御する。制御部(8)は、マイクロコンピュータと、マイクロコンピュータを動作させるためのソフトウエアを格納するメモリデバイス(具体的には半導体メモリ)とを用いて構成される。
 〈磁気冷凍ユニット〉
 図2に示すように、磁気冷凍ユニット(10)は、磁気作業物質(11)と、磁場印加部(12)と、回転機構(15)とを備える。
 磁気作業物質(11)は、磁場が印加されることで発熱する。磁気作業物質(11)は、磁場が取り除かれることで吸熱する。なお、磁気作業物質(11)は、印加された磁場が強くなることでも発熱する。磁気作業物質(11)は、印加された磁場が弱くなることでも吸熱する。磁気作業物質(11)は、回転軸(16)の周方向に間隔をあけて複数配置される。
 磁気作業物質(11)には、配管(35)が接続される。配管(35)は、熱媒体回路(2)の低温側流路(2a)及び高温側流路(2b)を構成する(図1参照)。配管(35)には、磁気作業物質(11)と熱交換する熱交換媒体が流れる。配管(35)は、磁気作業物質(11)における回転軸(16)の径方向外側に接続される。
 磁気作業物質(11)の材料としては、例えば、Gd5(Ge0.5Si0.54、La(Fe1-xSix13、La(Fe1-xCoxSiy13、La(Fe1-xSix13y、Mn(As0.9Sb0.1)等を用いることができる。
 回転機構(15)は、回転軸(16)と、モータ(17)とを有する。回転軸(16)は、モータ(17)に連結される。モータ(17)は、回転軸(16)を回転させる。回転軸(16)には、磁場印加部(12)が連結される。
 磁場印加部(12)は、第1回転体(21)と、第2回転体(22)と、を有する。第1回転体(21)は、回転軸(16)の軸方向に間隔をあけて2つ配置される。第1回転体(21)は、モータ(17)の回転に伴って、回転軸(16)とともに軸心回りに回転する。
 第2回転体(22)は、2つの第1回転体(21)の間に配置される。第2回転体(22)は、回転軸(16)の軸方向に間隔をあけて2つ以上設けられる。図2に示す例では、第2回転体(22)は、2つ設けられる。第2回転体(22)は、モータ(17)の回転に伴って、回転軸(16)とともに軸心回りに回転する。
 磁気作業物質(11)は、第1磁気作業物質(13)と、第2磁気作業物質(14)と、を含む。第1磁気作業物質(13)は、第1回転体(21)と第2回転体(22)との間に配置される。第2磁気作業物質(14)は、2つの第2回転体(22)の間に配置される。
 なお、第1磁気作業物質(13)と、第2磁気作業物質(14)とは、第1回転体(21)及び第2回転体(22)に対する配置が異なるだけであり、同じ材料及び同じ形状で構成される。
 第1回転体(21)は、第1コア部(25)と、複数の第1磁石(31)と、を有する。第1コア部(25)は、磁性材料で構成される。第1コア部(25)は、回転軸(16)に固定される。
 複数の第1磁石(31)は、第1コア部(25)における第1磁気作業物質(13)側の面に設けられる。複数の第1磁石(31)は、回転軸(16)の周方向に間隔をあけて配置される。第1磁石(31)は、永久磁石で構成される。第1磁石(31)は、着磁方向が回転軸(16)の軸方向に向かう。第1磁石(31)は、第1回転体(21)の磁極を構成する。
 第2回転体(22)は、支持部(26)と、複数の第2磁石(32)と、を有する。支持部(26)は、非磁性材料で構成される。支持部(26)は、回転軸(16)に固定される。
 複数の第2磁石(32)は、支持部(26)の径方向外側に配置される。第2磁石(32)は、第1磁石(31)に対向するように、周方向に間隔をあけて配置される。第2磁石(32)は、隣りの第2回転体(22)の第2磁石(32)に対向するように配置される。第2磁石(32)は、永久磁石で構成される。第2磁石(32)は、着磁方向が回転軸(16)の軸方向に向かう。第2磁石(32)は、第2回転体(22)の磁極を構成する。
 なお、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)の材料としては、例えば、Nd-Fe-B系の磁石や、SmCo系の磁石を用いることができる。
 ここで、第1回転体(21)と第2回転体(22)との軸方向の間隔、つまり、図2における第1回転体(21)の第1磁石(31)の下面から第2回転体(22)の第2磁石(32)の上面までの距離が、隣り合う第2回転体(22)同士の間隔、つまり、図2における上側の第2回転体(22)の第2磁石(32)の下面から下側の第2回転体(22)の第2磁石(32)の上面までの距離と略等しくなっている。
 第1回転体(21)及び第2回転体(22)は、第1磁気作業物質(13)及び第2磁気作業物質(14)に対して周方向に相対回転移動する。これにより、第1回転体(21)の第1磁石(31)及び第2回転体(22)の第2磁石(32)に対向する磁気作業物質(11)に向かって磁場を印加することができる。
 図2で上側の第1回転体(21)では、図2で右側の第1磁石(31)から第1コア部(25)を通って、左側の第1磁石(31)に向かって磁束が流れる。なお、磁束の流れを破線の矢印線で示す。
 図2で下側の第1回転体(21)では、図2で左側の第1磁石(31)から第1コア部(25)を通って、右側の第1磁石(31)に向かって磁束が流れる。
 2つの第2回転体(22)では、第1回転体(21)の第1磁石(31)から第2磁石(32)、隣りの第2回転体(22)の第2磁石(32)、及び第1回転体(21)の第1磁石(31)の順に、軸方向に磁束が流れる。
 第1回転体(21)の第1磁石(31)と、第2回転体(22)の第2磁石(32)との間に配置された磁気作業物質(11)には、軸方向に磁束が流れる。これにより、磁場が印加された磁気作業物質(11)が発熱する。
 その後、第1回転体(21)及び第2回転体(22)を回転移動させ、隣接する磁気作業物質(11)に対して第1回転体(21)の第1磁石(31)と、第2回転体(22)の第2磁石(32)とを軸方向に対向させる。これにより、最初に磁場を印加した磁気作業物質(11)は、磁場が取り除かれることで吸熱する。一方、隣接する磁気作業物質(11)は、磁場が印加されることで発熱する。
 〈磁石の起磁力について〉
 ところで、回転軸(16)の軸方向に3つ以上の磁石を配置し、磁石間に配置された磁気作業物質(11)に磁場を印加する場合に、起磁力が同じ磁石を用いると、磁気作業物質(11)が必要とする印加磁場強度に対して、磁石量が過剰になり、コストが増大するという問題がある。
 そこで、本実施形態では、必要最低限な磁石量で、磁気作業物質(11)に対して適切な磁場を印加できるようにした。
 具体的に、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)は、保磁力が同じ材料で構成される。第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)は、第1磁石(31)の厚みt1、第2磁石(32)の厚みt2が、t1<t2<2×t1という条件を満たすように設定される。
 これにより、第1磁石(31)の起磁力F1、第2磁石(32)の起磁力F2を、F1<F2<2×F1という条件を満たすように設定することができる。
 以下、図3の比較例1に示すように、2つの第1回転体(21)の間に、磁気作業物質(11)を一段のみ配置した場合について検討する。なお、図3では、図面を分かりやすくするために、回転軸(16)の記載を省略している。
 図3に示すように、第1磁石(31)の厚みをt1とする。図4に示すように、第1磁石(31)の起磁力をF1、磁気作業物質(11)の磁気抵抗をRa、第1コア部(25)の磁気抵抗をRcとする。
 図4の磁気抵抗回路における総磁気抵抗をR1とすると、R1=2×Ra+2×Rcとなる。図4の磁気抵抗回路における総起磁力をFmとすると、Fm=4×F1となる。磁気抵抗回路を流れる磁束をφ1とすると、φ1=Fm/R1となる。
 次に、図5に示す比較例2では、2つの第1回転体(21)の間に、磁気作業物質(11)を上下二段に配置した場合について検討する。図5では、図面を分かりやすくするために、回転軸(16)と、第2回転体(22)の支持部(26)との記載を省略している。
 図5に示すように、上下二段の磁気作業物質(11)の間には、第2磁石(32)が配置される。第2磁石(32)は、図5で上側の第1磁石(31)に対応する第2磁石(32)と、図5で下側の第1磁石(31)に対応する第2磁石(32)とを含む。つまり、上下二段の磁気作業物質(11)の間には、上下二段の第2磁石(32)が配置される。ここで、第2磁石(32)の厚みt1を、第1磁石(31)の厚みt1と等しくしている。
 図6に示す例では、比較例1の磁気抵抗回路に対して、図6において破線で囲まれた第2磁石(32)が追加される。第2磁石(32)の起磁力は、第1磁石(31)と同じ起磁力F1である。
 次に、図7に示すように、本実施形態では、上下二段の磁気作業物質(11)の間に、第2磁石(32)が一段のみ配置される。図7に示すように、第2磁石(32)の厚みをt2とする。図8に示すように、第2磁石(32)の起磁力をF2とする。
 図8の磁気抵抗回路における総磁気抵抗をR2とすると、R2=4×Ra+2×Rcとなる。ここで、比較例1の磁気抵抗回路に対して追加となる総磁気抵抗をR’2とすると、R’2=R2-R1=2×Raとなる。R’2は、R1よりも小さい(R’2<R1)。
 また、比較例1の磁気抵抗回路に対して追加となる起磁力をF’mとすると、F’m=2×F2となる。磁気抵抗回路を流れる磁束をφ2とすると、φ2=F’m/R’2となる。
 ここで、図4の比較例1の磁気抵抗回路と、図8の磁気抵抗回路とにおいて、磁束量を一定とするためには、φ1=φ2を満たす必要があり、Fm/R1=F’m/R’2となる。これにより、F’m=(R’2/R1)×Fmとなる。
 ここで、Fm=4×F1、F’m=2×F2であるから、F2=2×(R’2/R1)×F1となる。なお、R’2<R1であることから、(R’2/R1)<1となる。
 以上より、図8の磁気抵抗回路において追加となる磁気抵抗を考慮すると、磁束を発生させるために必要な磁石の起磁力を算出することができる。具体的に、図8の磁気抵抗回路において追加となる磁石の1枚あたりの起磁力を、F1<F2<2×F1という条件を満たすように設定する。
 ここで、磁石の起磁力は、磁石の保磁力をHcj、磁石の厚みをtとすると、Hcj×tで決定される。そのため、保磁力が同じ磁石を用いた場合、磁石の厚みを、t1<t2<2×t1という条件を満たすように設定すればよい。
 -実施形態1の効果-
 本実施形態の特徴によれば、第1磁石(31)の起磁力と、第2磁石(32)の起磁力とを適切に設定することで、必要最低限な磁石量で、第1磁気作業物質(13)に対して適切な磁場を印加することができ、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)のコスト低減を図ることができる。
 本実施形態の特徴によれば、第2回転体(22)を複数設けることで、第2磁気作業物質(14)に対して磁場を印加することができる。
 本実施形態の特徴によれば、第1磁石(31)の厚みと、第2磁石(32)の厚みとを適切に設定することで、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)の起磁力を変更することができる。
 本実施形態の特徴によれば、磁気冷凍ユニット(10)と、熱媒体回路(2)と、を備えた冷凍装置を提供することができる。
 《実施形態1の変形例》
 前記実施形態1では、図2で右側の第1磁石(31)、磁気作業物質(11)、及び第2磁石(32)を流れる磁束を、第1コア部(25)を介して、図2で左側の第1磁石(31)、磁気作業物質(11)、及び第2磁石(32)に流すようにしたが、この形態に限定するものではない。
 例えば、支持部(26)の全体、もしくは一部を磁性材料で構成し、上下2つの第1コア部(25)を磁気的に繋ぎ、磁路を構成することで、図9に示すように、図9で右側の第1磁石(31)、磁気作業物質(11)、及び第2磁石(32)を流れる磁束を、第1コア部(25)を介して回転軸(16)の軸方向に流した後、再び、図9で右側の第1磁石(31)、磁気作業物質(11)、及び第2磁石(32)に流れるようにしてもよい。
 また、図9で左側の第1磁石(31)、磁気作業物質(11)、及び第2磁石(32)を流れる磁束についても同様に、第1コア部(25)を介して回転軸(16)の軸方向に流した後、再び、図9で左側の第1磁石(31)、磁気作業物質(11)、及び第2磁石(32)に流れるようにしてもよい。
 《実施形態2》
 以下、前記実施形態1と同じ部分については同じ符号を付し、相違点についてのみ説明する。
 図10に示すように、磁場印加部(12)は、第1回転体(21)と、第2回転体(22)と、を有する。第1回転体(21)は、回転軸(16)の軸方向に間隔をあけて2つ配置される。
 第2回転体(22)は、2つの第1回転体(21)の間に配置される。第2回転体(22)は、回転軸(16)の軸方向に間隔をあけて2つ以上設けられる。図10に示す例では、第2回転体(22)は、2つ設けられる。
 磁気作業物質(11)は、第1磁気作業物質(13)と、第2磁気作業物質(14)と、を含む。第1磁気作業物質(13)は、第1回転体(21)と第2回転体(22)との間に配置される。第2磁気作業物質(14)は、2つの第2回転体(22)の間に配置される。
 第1回転体(21)は、第1コア部(25)と、複数の第1磁石(31)と、を有する。第1磁石(31)は、電磁石(50)で構成される。具体的に、第1コア部(25)は、磁性材料で構成される。第1コア部(25)の一部は、第1磁気作業物質(13)に向かって突出する。第1コア部(25)における突出部分には、巻線(40)が巻き付けられる。電磁石(50)は、巻線(40)に通電することで起磁力を生ずる。
 第2回転体(22)は、支持部(26)と、第2コア部(27)と、複数の第2磁石(32)と、を有する。支持部(26)は、非磁性材料で構成される。第2コア部(27)は、支持部(26)の径方向外側に配置される。
 第2磁石(32)は、電磁石(50)で構成される。第2コア部(27)は、磁性材料で構成される。第2コア部(27)の一部には、巻線(40)が巻き付けられる。電磁石(50)は、巻線(40)に通電することで起磁力を生ずる。
 巻線(40)には、電線(42)が接続される。電線(42)は、回転軸(16)に沿って配索される。例えば、回転軸(16)の内部を中空にして、回転軸(16)の中空部分に電線(42)を配索すればよい。
 回転軸(16)におけるモータ(17)とは反対側の端部には、スリップリング(45)が設けられる。スリップリング(45)は、リング部(46)と、ブラシ部(47)とを有する。リング部(46)は、回転軸(16)の端部において、回転軸(16)と同心円状に配置される。リング部(46)には、電線(42)が接続される。
 ブラシ部(47)は、リング部(46)と電気的に接続される。ブラシ部(47)は、電源(41)に接続される。ブラシ部(47)は、回転軸(16)の回転動作中に、リング部(46)に接触している。これにより、電源(41)から供給された電流は、ブラシ部(47)、リング部(46)、電線(42)を通って巻線(40)に向かって流れる。巻線(40)に通電されることで、電磁石(50)には、起磁力が生ずる。
 本実施形態では、第1磁石(31)と第2磁石(32)とは、巻線(40)のターン数及び通電する電流値の少なくとも一方が異なるようにしている。具体的に、電磁石(50)の起磁力は、電線(42)のターン数をN、通電する電流値をIとすると、N×Iで決定される。ここで、第1磁石(31)の巻線(40)のターン数をN1、第2磁石(32)の巻線(40)のターン数をN2とする。
 図10に示す例では、第2磁石(32)の巻線(40)のターン数N2は、第1磁石(31)の巻線(40)のターン数N1よりも多い(N2>N1)。そのため、第2磁石(32)の起磁力は、第1磁石(31)の起磁力よりも大きくなる。
 ここで、巻線(40)に通電する電流値が一定の場合、巻線(40)のターン数を、N1<N2<2×N1という条件を満たすように設定することで、第1磁石(31)の起磁力F1、第2磁石(32)の起磁力F2が、F1<F2<2×F1という条件を満たすように設定することができる。
 なお、巻線(40)のターン数を同じにして、第2磁石(32)に通電する電流値を、第1磁石(31)に通電する電流値よりも大きくしてもよい。
 -実施形態2の効果-
 本実施形態の特徴によれば、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)の巻線(40)のターン数、及び通電する電流値の少なくとも一方を適切に設定することで、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)の起磁力を変更することができる。
 《その他の実施形態》
 前記実施形態については、以下のような構成としてもよい。
 本実施形態では、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)は、保磁力が同じ材料で構成された形態について説明したが、この形態に限定するものではない。
 具体的に、磁石の起磁力は、Hcj×tで決定されるため、保持力が異なる磁石を使用した場合、磁石の厚みの設計条件は、t1<t2<2×t1とは限らなくなる。この場合には、第1磁石(31)の起磁力F1、第2磁石(32)の起磁力F2が、F1<F2<2×F1という条件を満たすように設計すればよい。
 本実施形態では、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)をそれぞれ1枚の磁石で形成する構成について説明したが、この形態に限定するものではない。例えば、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)を、複数枚の磁石を積み重ねることで形成してもよい。ここで、厚みが同一の磁石であれば、第1磁石(31)では2枚、第2磁石(32)では3枚を積み重ねた構成としてもよい。また、第1磁石(31)を1枚にし、第2磁石(32)は第1磁石(31)よりも磁石の厚みが薄いものを2枚積層して構成するようにしてもよい。
 本実施形態では、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)の全てを永久磁石で構成した場合や、第1磁石(31)及び第2磁石(32)の全てを電磁石で構成した場合について説明したが、この形態に限定するものではない。例えば、第1磁石(31)を電磁石で構成し、第2磁石(32)を永久磁石で構成してもよい。
 以上、実施形態及び変形例を説明したが、特許請求の範囲の趣旨及び範囲から逸脱することなく、形態や詳細の多様な変更が可能なことが理解されるであろう。また、以上の実施形態、変形例、その他の実施形態に係る要素を適宜組み合わせたり、置換したりしてもよい。また、明細書及び特許請求の範囲の「第1」、「第2」、「第3」…という記載は、これらの記載が付与された語句を区別するために用いられており、その語句の数や順序までも限定するものではない。

  1.  回転軸(16)と、
     前記回転軸(16)の軸方向に間隔をあけて配置され、前記回転軸(16)とともに回転する2つの第1回転体(21)と、
     2つの前記第1回転体(21)の間に配置され、前記回転軸(16)とともに回転する第2回転体(22)と、
     前記第1回転体(21)と前記第2回転体(22)との間に配置された第1磁気作業物質(13)と、
     前記第1回転体(21)に設けられ、前記回転軸(16)の軸方向に対向して前記第1磁気作業物質(13)に磁場を印加する第1磁石(31)と、
     前記第2回転体(22)に設けられ、前記回転軸(16)の軸方向に対向して前記第1磁気作業物質(13)に磁場を印加する第2磁石(32)と、を備え、
     前記第1磁石(31)の起磁力F1、前記第2磁石(32)の起磁力F2が、F1<F2<2×F1という条件を満たす
    磁気冷凍ユニット。
  2.  請求項1の磁気冷凍ユニットにおいて、
     前記第2回転体(22)は、前記回転軸(16)の軸方向に間隔をあけて2つ以上設けられ、
     2つの前記第2回転体(22)の間に配置された第2磁気作業物質(14)を備える
    磁気冷凍ユニット。
  3.  請求項1又は2の磁気冷凍ユニットにおいて、
     前記第1磁石(31)及び前記第2磁石(32)は、保磁力が同じ材料で構成され、
     前記第1磁石(31)の厚みt1、前記第2磁石(32)の厚みt2が、t1<t2<2×t1という条件を満たす
    磁気冷凍ユニット。
  4.  請求項1又は2の磁気冷凍ユニットにおいて、
     前記第1磁石(31)及び前記第2磁石(32)は、巻線(40)に通電することで起磁力を生ずる電磁石(50)で構成され、
     前記第1磁石(31)と前記第2磁石(32)とは、前記巻線(40)のターン数及び通電する電流値の少なくとも一方が異なる
    磁気冷凍ユニット。
  5.  請求項1~4の何れか1つの磁気冷凍ユニット(10)と、
     前記磁気冷凍ユニット(10)と熱交換する熱媒体回路(2)と、を備えた冷凍装置。
