- glass materials have been used for the optical components of imaging modules such as cameras, video cameras, camera-equipped mobile phones, videophones, and camera-equipped door phones.
- Imaging modules such as cameras, video cameras, camera-equipped mobile phones, videophones, and camera-equipped door phones.
- Glass materials have been favored because they have a variety of optical properties and excellent environmental resistance, but they have the disadvantages of being difficult to make lightweight and compact, and of poor processability and productivity.
- cured resins or resin molded products can be mass-produced and have excellent processability, so in recent years they have come to be used for a variety of optical components.
- miniaturizing optical components can cause problems with chromatic aberration. Therefore, for optical components that use cured resin or molded resin, studies are being conducted to correct chromatic aberration by adjusting the dispersion characteristics of the refractive index using monomers or additives that make up the polymer in the cured resin or molded resin.

- light resistance a decrease in transmittance
- polymers having a polycyclic condensed ring structure containing a nitrogen atom as an atom constituting the condensed ring are prone to coloring. Therefore, there is a demand for the development of new polymers that exhibit refractive index dispersion characteristics and also have light resistance.
