- the skew angle is set to a mechanical angle of ⁇ 360°/number of poles/reduced-order component/2 so as to cancel out the order components of the torque ripple that are to be reduced.
- the rotor 20 has eight poles, and is set to ⁇ 1.875° so as to reduce the 12th-order component.
- the positive rotation direction (arrow 60), which is the main rotation direction of the rotor 20, is the direction in which the rotor 20 rotates when the electric vehicle 100 moves forward, and is the counterclockwise direction as viewed from the front in Fig. 4.
- the positive direction of the skew angle is the positive rotation direction of the rotor 20.
- the first and second blocks 20A and 20B are set with symmetrical skew angles in the axial direction, with the skew angle of the first block 20A set to +1.875° and the skew angle of the second block 20B set to -1.875°.
- the first permanent magnet 22A is positioned +1.875° ahead of the rotor 20 in the forward rotation direction

- the d-axis d1 of the first block 20A alone which is the line connecting the center of the first permanent magnet 22A and the center of rotation, is located at an angle ⁇ 1 (+1.875°) in the positive rotation direction of the rotor 20 (arrow 60) from the d-axis d0 of the rotor 20 as a whole.
- FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view showing the configuration of the second block 20B for one pole of the rotor 20, and shows a cross section perpendicular to the axial direction.
- the d-axis d2 of the second block 20B alone which is the line connecting the center of the second permanent magnet 22B and the center of rotation, is positioned behind the d-axis d0 of the rotor 20 as a whole by ⁇ 2 (-1.875°) in the positive rotation direction of the rotor 20 (arrow 60).
- a vector D0 indicating the direction of the d-axis d0 of the entire rotor 20 is expressed by the following equation.
- D0 (L1/(L1+L2)) ⁇ D1+(L2/(L1+L2)) ⁇ D2
- L1 is the axial length of the first block 20A
- L2 is the axial length of the second block 20B
- D1 is a two-dimensional direction vector when d1 is projected onto a plane
- D2 is a two-dimensional direction vector when d2 is projected onto a plane.
- L1 L2
- d0 is located exactly halfway between d1 and d2.
- a certain advance angle ⁇ is generally set for the purpose of utilizing reluctance torque or for the purpose of flux weakening control. This advance angle is based on the q-axis q0 of the entire rotor 20. In the case of power running, ⁇ is in the range of 0° ⁇ 90°.
- Fig. 7 is a diagram showing the position of the field magnet in the first block 20A of the rotor 20 using electrical angles. As shown in Fig.
- the magnetic flux vector Q from the stator 30 has an advance angle ⁇ 0 based on the q-axis q0 of the rotor 20 as a whole, and an advance angle ⁇ 1 based on the q-axis q1 of the first block 20A.
- the d-axis d1 of the first block 20A is a position advanced from the d-axis d0 of the rotor 20 in the forward rotation direction of the rotor 20 (arrow 60).
- Fig. 8 is a diagram showing the position of the field magnet in the second block 20B of the rotor 20 using electrical angles.
- the magnetic flux vector Q from the stator 30 has an advance angle ⁇ 0 based on the q-axis q0 of the rotor 20 as a whole, and an advance angle ⁇ 2 based on the q-axis q2 of the second block 20B.
- the d-axis d2 of the second block 20B is a position that lags behind the d-axis d0 of the rotor 20 in the forward rotation direction of the rotor 20 (arrow 60).
- the advance angle ⁇ 0 is based on the q-axis q0 of the rotor 20 as a whole
- the advance angle ⁇ 2 based on the q-axis q2 of the second block 20B is greater than the advance angle ⁇ 1 based on the q-axis q1 of the first block 20A. That is, the advance angle of the second block 20B is closer to 90 degrees than that of the first block 20A, and the amount of magnetic flux weakening is greater.
- flux-weakening control when flux-weakening control is performed, iron loss generated in the rotor 20 is reduced, and the second block 20B generates less heat than the first block 20A. That is, the first block 20A generates more heat than the second block 20B.
- the first permanent magnet 22A generates more heat than the second permanent magnet 22B, so that the first permanent magnet 22A is a high heat generating magnet and the second permanent magnet 22B is a low heat generating magnet.
- the first block 20A is disposed at the axial end side, and the second block 20B is disposed at the axial center side.
- the first block 20A which generates a large amount of heat, is disposed at the axial end side, so that the contact area with the air 50 inside the rotating electric machine 1 is large, and heat is easily dissipated from the shaft end.
- the first block 20A is close to the end of the shaft 10, so heat is easily diffused to the outside air through the shaft 10. In this way, the heat dissipation of the first block 20A, which generates a large amount of heat, is made greater than that of the second block 20B, so that the temperature distribution is made uniform between the first block 20A and the second block 20B. This makes it possible to reduce the maximum temperature of the entire rotor 20, and to achieve a smaller size and higher output of the rotating electric machine 1.
- the heat generated by the rotor 20 is mainly from the first and second permanent magnets 22A and 22B, which are field magnets. In this case, making the heat dissipation of the first block 20A greater than that of the second block 20B is the same as making the heat dissipation of the first permanent magnet 22A greater than that of the second permanent magnet 22B.
- the first permanent magnet 22A is a high heat generation magnet and the second permanent magnet 22B is a low heat generation magnet, and the rotor 20 is cooled by heat transfer via a fluid, with the heat dissipation properties of the high heat generation magnet being greater than the heat dissipation properties of the low heat generation magnet.
- This improves the uniformity of the temperature distribution within the rotating electrical machine 1, thereby reducing the maximum temperature and enabling the rotating electrical machine 1 to be made smaller and have higher output.
- the rotor 20 has multiple stages of blocks arranged in the axial direction, each stage consisting of at least one first block 20A having a first permanent magnet 22A for each pole and at least one second block 20B having a second permanent magnet 22B for each pole, and of the multiple stages of blocks, the blocks having the high heat generating magnets are arranged at the axial end side, and the blocks having the low heat generating magnets are arranged at the axial center side. Therefore, the heat dissipation ability of the high heat generating magnets can be easily and reliably made greater than the heat dissipation ability of the low heat generating magnets, and the rotor 20 is effectively cooled.
- the rotor 20 is configured with four blocks in the axial direction, but the number of blocks may be other than four as long as the first block 20A is arranged at the axial end side and the second block 20B is arranged at the axial center side.
- the rotor 20 is cooled via the air 50 and the shaft 10, but the fluid is not limited to the air 50, and oil, for example, may be used.
- the second block 20B When the rotating electric machine 1 performs regenerative operation, the second block 20B, in which the second permanent magnet 22B is arranged at a position lagging in the forward rotation direction of the rotor 20, generates more heat than the first block 20A.
- the above-mentioned advance angle ⁇ is in the range of 0° ⁇ 90° during power running, whereas it is in the range of 90° ⁇ 180° during regenerative operation.
- the first block which is arranged at a phase-advanced position, has ⁇ closer to 90 degrees, which increases the amount of magnetic flux weakened and reduces the amount of heat generated. For this reason, the second block 20B generates more heat.
- the rotating electric machine 1 has been described as a drive motor that mainly performs power running operations, but the electric vehicle 100 may be provided with a rotating electric machine that functions as a generator in addition to the drive motor.
- the rotating electric machine 1 is a generator that mainly performs regenerative operations, it is configured as follows.
- the second block 20B in which the second permanent magnet 22B is arranged at a position delayed in the forward rotation direction of the rotor 20 generates a larger amount of heat than the first block 20A in which the first permanent magnet 22A is arranged at a position advanced in the forward rotation direction of the rotor 20.
- the second permanent magnet 22B generates a larger amount of heat than the first permanent magnet 22A, so that the second permanent magnet 22B is a high heat generating magnet and the first permanent magnet 22A is a low heat generating magnet.
- the second block 20B is disposed on the axial end side of the rotor 20, and the first block 20A is disposed on the axial center side. Note that the arrangement of the first block 20A and the second block 20B is reversed in Figures 3 and 4, and is not shown for convenience.
- the rotor 20 is cooled by heat transfer via the fluid, with the heat dissipation of the high heat generating magnet (second permanent magnet 22B) being greater than that of the low heat generating magnet (first permanent magnet 22A).
- second permanent magnet 22B the heat dissipation of the high heat generating magnet
- first permanent magnet 22A the low heat generating magnet

- FIG. 10 is a diagram showing the teeth portion of the axial end region 31A.

- the tip angle of the teeth 31BA in the axial center region 31B is y (>x) [°]
- the base width of the teeth 31BA is b (>a) [mm]. Note that the larger the tip angle, the larger the tip width.
- the tip width and base width of the teeth 31AA in the axial end region 31A are narrower than those of the teeth 31BA in the axial center region 31B, so that the width of the magnetic path of the teeth 31AA in the axial end region 31A is narrower than that of the teeth 31BA in the axial center region 31B, and magnetic saturation is more likely to occur.
- the axial end regions 31A of the stator 30 have less loss than the axial central region 31B.
- the magnetic flux passing from the teeth portions 31AA of the axial end regions 31A to the rotor 20 is reduced, and the loss occurring in the corresponding region of the rotor 20 is also reduced.
- the first block 20A with a high heat generation amount is arranged on the axial end side
- the second block 20B with a low heat generation amount is arranged on the axial center side in the rotor 20.
- the teeth 31AA in the axial end region 31A have narrower tip and base widths than the teeth 31BA in the axial center region 31B, but the same effect can be obtained if at least one of the tip and base widths is narrower.
- Fig. 12 is a diagram showing teeth portions in an axial center region 31B according to another example of embodiment 2.

- the base width of the teeth 31BB may be the same as the base width of the teeth 31AA in the axial end region 31A.
- stator core 31 which combines multiple teeth 31AA, 31BB with different tip widths, is effective in reducing torque ripple and is particularly suitable for rotating electrical machines 1 that are operated in a manner that is sensitive to torque ripple.

- the advance angle based on the q-axis of the second block 200B is greater than the advance angle based on the q-axis of the first block 200A. That is, the advance angle of the second block 200B is closer to 90 degrees than the first block 200A, and the amount of flux weakening is greater, resulting in a lower amount of heat generation.
- the first permanent magnet 22A is a high heat generating magnet
- the second permanent magnet 22B is a low heat generating magnet.
- the rotating electric machine 1 is a drive motor that mainly performs power running, and the first block 200A, which generates a high amount of heat, is arranged upstream of the fluid 51 in the axial direction, and the second block 200B, which generates a low amount of heat, is arranged downstream.
- the fluid 51 flowing through the through hole 55 removes heat from the first block 200A and then removes heat from the second block 200B.
- the temperature of the fluid 51 in contact with the first block 200A is lower than the temperature of the fluid 51 in contact with the second block 200B, and the heat removal effect is high. This makes it possible to equalize the temperatures of the first block 200A and the second block 200B.

- the rotor 201 includes a first block 20A on the upstream side of the fluid 50A in the axial direction, and a second block 20B on the downstream side, with the first block 20A including the first permanent magnet 22A and the second block 20B including the second permanent magnet 22B.
- the configurations of the first and second blocks 20A, 20B are the same as those of the first embodiment (see Figs. 5 and 6).

- the first block 20A which generates a high amount of heat
- the second block 20B which generates a low amount of heat
- the fluid 50A flowing in the axial direction first absorbs heat from the first block 20A, and then absorbs heat from the second block 20B.
- the temperature of the fluid 50A in contact with the first block 20A is lower than the temperature of the fluid 50A in contact with the second block 20B, and the heat extraction effect is high. This makes it possible to equalize the temperatures of the first block 20A and the second block 20B.
- the heat dissipation of the first block 20A which generates a large amount of heat, is made greater than that of the second block 20B, so that the temperature distribution is made uniform between the first block 20A and the second block 20B.

- the second block 20B which generates a high heat generation amount, is arranged upstream of the fluid 50A in the axial direction, and the first block 20A, which generates a low heat generation amount, is arranged downstream.
- the rotor 201 is cooled by heat transfer through the fluid 50A by making the heat dissipation of the high heat generating magnet (second permanent magnet 22B) greater than that of the low heat generating magnet (first permanent magnet 22A).
- This increases the uniformity of the temperature distribution within the rotating electric machine 1, reducing the maximum temperature and enabling the rotating electric machine 1 to be made smaller and with higher output.

- the flow path switch 5 reverses the direction of the fluid 51 when the rotating electric machine 1 switches between the power running operation and the regenerative operation.
- the flow path switch 5 has, for example, a solenoid-type directional control valve therein, and is operated by a switching command 3 a from the inverter 3.
- the inverter 3 provides a switching command 3a to the flow path switch 5, and the flow path switch 5 reverses the flow direction of the fluid 51.
- the fluid 51 flowing from the first block 200A toward the second block 200B during power running is reversed during regeneration, and flows from the second block 200B toward the first block 200A.
- the first block 200A is provided with a first permanent magnet 22A arranged at a position advanced in the forward rotation direction of the rotor 200 for each pole
- the second block 200B is provided with a second permanent magnet 22B arranged at a position delayed in the forward rotation direction of the rotor 200 for each pole.

- the rotating electric machine 1 is provided with a flow path switch 5 that reverses the flow direction of the fluid 51, so that the fluid 51 flows from the first block 200A or the second block 200B, whichever generates more heat, to the block which generates less heat, not only during power running but also during regeneration.
- a flow path switch 5 that reverses the flow direction of the fluid 51, so that the fluid 51 flows from the first block 200A or the second block 200B, whichever generates more heat, to the block which generates less heat, not only during power running but also during regeneration.

- the flow path switch 5 is not limited to being operated by commands from the inverter 3, but may be switched based on other information, for example, the current value or angular velocity information of the rotating electric machine 1.
- the fifth embodiment can also be applied to a rotating electric machine 1 that is a generator that mainly performs regenerative operation.
- the second permanent magnet 22B is a high heat generating magnet
- the first permanent magnet 22A is a low heat generating magnet
- the second block 20B with a high heat generation amount is arranged upstream of the fluid 50A in the axial direction
- the first block 20A with a low heat generation amount is arranged downstream.
- the flow path switch 5 reverses the flow direction of the fluid 50A.

- the first block 210A is arranged on the upstream side of the fluid 51, and the second block 210B is arranged on the downstream side. - Embodiment 9 Next, a ninth embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings.
- the rotating electric machine 1 will be described as a driving motor that mainly performs power running.
- the rotors 20, 200, 201 having a plurality of stages of blocks in the axial direction are used, but in this embodiment, a single structure is used in the axial direction.
- 24 is a cross-sectional view showing the configuration of a rotor according to the ninth embodiment, and shows a schematic cross section taken along a plane passing through the axis 10A of the rotating electric machine 1.
- FIG. 25 is a cross-sectional view showing the configuration for one rotor pole, and shows a cross section perpendicular to the axial direction.
- the rotor 220 comprises a rotor core 21 and first and second permanent magnets 22A and 22B, and is cooled by a fluid 51, which is oil, flowing through a through hole 55A that penetrates in the axial direction.
- the rotor 220 comprises a first permanent magnet 22A arranged at a forward position in the forward rotation direction (arrow 60) of the rotor 220, a second permanent magnet 22B arranged at a delayed position, and a through hole 55A through which the fluid 51 flows, for each pole.
- the first permanent magnet 22A and the second permanent magnet 22B are arranged symmetrically or approximately symmetrically with respect to the d-axis d0 of the rotor 220.
- the through hole 55A is arranged on the first permanent magnet 22A side with respect to the d-axis d0 of the rotor 220. In other words, the through hole 55A is provided at a position where the distance DA from the through hole 55A to the first permanent magnet 22A is shorter than the distance DB from the through hole 55A to the second permanent magnet 22B.
- FIG. 26 is a diagram showing the field magnet positions in rotor 220 using electrical angles.
- the rotating electric machine 1 when operated in power running, it is operated with a constant advance angle ⁇ (0° ⁇ 90°) based on the q-axis q0 in order to utilize reluctance torque or perform flux weakening control.
- the magnetic flux vector Q from the stator 30 has an advance angle ⁇ 0 based on the q-axis q0 of the rotor 220.
- the first permanent magnet 22A is disposed at a position advanced in the forward rotation direction (arrow 60)
- the second permanent magnet 22B is disposed at a position delayed in the forward rotation direction (arrow 60).
- the second permanent magnet 22B When the rotor 220 is driven with an advance angle ⁇ 0, the second permanent magnet 22B is more strongly affected by weakening the field magnetic flux than the first permanent magnet 22A. Therefore, the second permanent magnet 22B and the rotor core 21 around it generate less heat than the first permanent magnet 22A and the rotor core 21 around it. In other words, the first permanent magnet 22A generates more heat than the second permanent magnet 22B, making the first permanent magnet 22A a high heat magnet and the second permanent magnet 22B a low heat magnet.
- the heat transfer from the first and second permanent magnets 22A and 22B to the fluid 51 increases the closer they are to the fluid 51.
- the first permanent magnet 22A which is closer to the through hole 55A through which the fluid 51 flows, is more likely to extract heat than the second permanent magnet 22B, and has higher heat dissipation properties.
- a first permanent magnet 22A and a second permanent magnet 22B are provided on each pole of the rotor 220, and further, a through hole 55A for flowing a fluid 51 in the axial direction is provided for each pole at a position closer to the first permanent magnet 22A (high heat generation magnet) than to the second permanent magnet 22B (low heat generation magnet). Therefore, the heat generated by the first permanent magnet 22A is more likely to escape into the fluid 51 flowing through the through hole 55A than the heat generated by the second permanent magnet 22B, and the heat dissipation property of the first permanent magnet 22A is greater than that of the second permanent magnet 22B.
- the first permanent magnet 22A which has a higher heat generation amount, can have greater heat dissipation properties than the second permanent magnet 22B, which has a lower heat generation amount, making the temperature distribution in the rotor 220 more uniform and reducing the maximum temperature, thereby enabling the rotating motor 1 to be made smaller and more powerful.

- the through holes 55A are provided at a position where the distance DA is as small as possible within the region where the magnetic flux density of the rotor core 21 is 0.1 [T] or less if the through holes 55A are not provided.
- the ratio of the distance DA to the distance DB may be set to the inverse ratio of the heat generation amounts of the first and second permanent magnets 22A and 22B.
- the rotating electric machine 1 is described as a driving motor that mainly performs power running, but the present invention can also be applied to a rotating electric machine 1 that is a generator that mainly performs regenerative operation.
- the second permanent magnet 22B is a high heat generating magnet
- the first permanent magnet 22A is a low heat generating magnet
- the through hole 55A is disposed on the second permanent magnet 22B side with respect to the d-axis d0 of the rotor 220. That is, the through hole 55A is disposed at a position where the distance from the through hole 55A to the second permanent magnet 22B is shorter than the distance from the through hole 55A to the first permanent magnet 22A.
- the second permanent magnet 22B which has a higher heat generation amount, can have greater heat dissipation properties than the first permanent magnet 22A, which has a lower heat generation amount, making the temperature distribution in the rotor 220 more uniform and reducing the maximum temperature, thereby enabling the rotating motor 1 to be made smaller and more powerful.
- FIG. 27 is a cross-sectional view showing the configuration of a rotor according to the tenth embodiment, and shows a schematic cross section taken along a plane passing through the axis 10A of the rotating electric machine 1.
- the rotor 230 similarly to the above-mentioned ninth embodiment, has a single structure in the axial direction.
- the rotor 230 has, for each pole, a first permanent magnet 22A arranged at an advanced position in the forward rotation direction (arrow 60) of the rotor 230, a second permanent magnet 22B arranged at a delayed position, and a first through hole 55B and a second through hole 55C through which the fluid 51 flows.
- the first permanent magnet 22A and the second permanent magnet 22B are arranged symmetrically or approximately symmetrically with respect to the d axis d0 of the rotor 230.
- the first through hole 55B is arranged on the first permanent magnet 22A side with respect to the d axis d0 of the rotor 230, and the second through hole 55C is arranged on the second permanent magnet 22B side with respect to the d axis d0 of the rotor 230.
- the first through hole 55B and the second through hole 55C are disposed symmetrically or approximately symmetrically with respect to the d-axis d0 of the rotor 230.
- the fluid 51 for cooling the rotor 230 flows through the first through hole 55B and the second through hole 55C in the same axial direction, but the speed at which the fluid flows through the first through hole 55B is set to be greater than the speed at which the fluid flows through the second through hole 55C.
- the first permanent magnet 22A generates more heat than the second permanent magnet 22B, so that the first permanent magnet 22A is a high heat generating magnet and the second permanent magnet 22B is a low heat generating magnet.
- each pole of the rotor 230 is provided with a first permanent magnet 22A and a second permanent magnet 22B, and further, a first through hole 55B and a second through hole 55C for flowing fluid 51 in the axial direction are provided for each pole.
- the flow speed of the fluid 51 flowing in the axial direction is set to be faster through the first through hole 55B than through the second through hole 55C.
- the fluid 51 flows at high speed through the first through hole 55B, which is positioned near the first permanent magnet 22A (high heat generating magnet) that has a high heat generation, and flows at low speed through the second through hole 55C, which is positioned near the second permanent magnet 22B (low heat generating magnet) that has a low heat generation.
- the first permanent magnet 22A Since heat transfer from a solid to a fluid increases as the flow rate increases, the heat generated by the first permanent magnet 22A is more likely to escape into the fluid 51 than the heat generated by the second permanent magnet 22B, and the heat dissipation ability of the first permanent magnet 22A is greater than that of the second permanent magnet 22B. In this way, the first permanent magnet 22A, which has a higher heat generation amount, can have greater heat dissipation properties than the second permanent magnet 22B, which has a lower heat generation amount, making the temperature distribution in the rotor 230 more uniform and reducing the maximum temperature, thereby enabling the rotating motor 1 to be made smaller and more powerful.
- the rotor 230 can be made symmetrical with respect to the d-axis d0, making it easy to design the magnetic circuit.
- the method of setting the positions of the first and second through holes 55B and 55C is not limited as long as they are symmetrical with respect to the d-axis d0 of the rotor 230.
- a flux barrier on the magnetic circuit can be used as the first and second through holes 55B and 55C.
- the rotating electric machine 1 is described as a driving motor that mainly performs a power running operation, but the present invention can also be applied to a rotating electric machine 1 that is a generator that mainly performs a regenerative operation.
- the second permanent magnet 22B is a high heat generating magnet
- the first permanent magnet 22A is a low heat generating magnet
- the flow rate of the fluid 51 flowing in the axial direction through the second through hole 55C is set to be higher than the flow rate through the first through hole 55B.
- the fluid 51 flows at high speed through the second through hole 55C arranged near the second permanent magnet 22B (high heat generating magnet) that generates a high amount of heat, and flows at low speed through the first through hole 55B arranged near the first permanent magnet 22A (low heat generating magnet) that generates a low amount of heat.
- the second permanent magnet 22B which has a higher heat generation amount, can have greater heat dissipation properties than the first permanent magnet 22A, which has a lower heat generation amount, making the temperature distribution in the rotor 230 more uniform and reducing the maximum temperature, thereby enabling the rotating motor 1 to be made smaller and more powerful.
- Fig. 28 is a block diagram showing a system configuration of an electric vehicle according to another example of embodiment 10.
- an electric vehicle 100B includes a rotating electric machine 1, a rotation sensor 2, an inverter 3, a battery 4, and further includes a flow rate switch 9 provided in the rotating electric machine 1.
- the flow rate switch 9 inverts the magnitude relationship between the speed of the fluid 51 flowing through the first through hole 55B and the speed of the fluid 51 flowing through the second through hole 55C when the rotating electric machine 1 switches between a power running operation and a regenerative operation.
- the inverter 3 provides a switching command 3a to the flow rate switch 9, and the flow rate switch 9 reduces the flow rate of the fluid 51 flowing through the first through hole 55B and increases the flow rate of the fluid 51 flowing through the second through hole 55C.
- the flow rate switch 9 switches the flow rate of the fluid 51 flowing through the first through hole 55B so that the flow rate of the fluid 51 flowing through the first through hole 55B is smaller than the flow rate of the fluid 51 flowing through the second through hole 55C.

Description

D0=(L1/(L1+L2))・D1+(L2/(L1+L2))・D2
D0=(L1/(L1+L2))・D1+(L2/(L1+L2))・D2
