- the drive unit that drives the reclining lock device 6a was mounted on the front pipe of the cushion frame or on the pan frame, etc., taking into consideration the amount of deflection of the pad and interference with other parts. Furthermore, if there was no contact surface on which to place the drive unit, a separate part had to be provided, which could increase the number of parts. There was also concern that contact with the parts when sitting down could worsen the feeling.
- a drive unit 30 having a motor 31, a gear box 40, etc. is disposed in the hollow portion 15 of the rear pipe 14 constituting the frame F. Therefore, it is not necessary to secure a space for disposing the drive unit 30 on the cushion frame 10, for example. Therefore, it is not necessary to consider the deflection of the pad or interference with other parts, and separate parts for attachment are not required, so deterioration of feeling is suppressed. Furthermore, by disposing the drive unit 30 inside the rear pipe 14, the motor 31 and the gear box 40 are protected by the outer surface of the rear pipe 14. Therefore, additional members that were conventionally required for mounting and protecting the drive unit 30 are no longer necessary, suppressing an increase in the number of parts and weight, which in turn contributes to suppressing increases in fuel efficiency and electricity consumption.

- the vehicle seats S, SA, SB may be manufactured by the above manufacturing method, which includes attaching fixing parts 35, 35A, 35B that fix the drive unit 30 to the hollow portion 15, with parts of the fixing parts 35, 35A, 35B abutting against the inner wall surface 14a of the frame F, and the drive unit 30 being supported by frictional forces generated between parts of the fixing parts 35, 35A, 35B and the inner wall surface 14a of the frame F.
- the vehicle seats S, SA, and SB are configured so that the driven parts are driven by linear members (first cable 45, second cable 50) extending from the driving part 30, and the linear members are preferably manufactured by a manufacturing method in which they are disposed in the hollow part 15.
- the vehicle seats S, SA, SB may be manufactured by the above manufacturing method in which the driven parts are configured to be driven by linear members extending from the driving part 30, through holes 35b, 35Bb are formed in the fixed parts 35, 35A, 35B, and the linear members are connected to the reclining lock device 6a through the through holes 35b, 35Bb.
- the vehicle seats S, SA, and SB may be manufactured by the above-mentioned manufacturing method in which the drive unit 30 has a power supply receiving unit (male connector 36a) that receives electric power, and the power supply receiving unit (male connector 36a) is provided at an end of the frame F in a position exposed to the outside of the frame F.
- the drive unit 30 has a power supply receiving unit (male connector 36a) that receives electric power
- the power supply receiving unit (male connector 36a) is provided at an end of the frame F in a position exposed to the outside of the frame F.
- vehicle seats S, SA, and SB may be manufactured by the above-mentioned manufacturing method, in which the linear members are wires or cables.
- the vehicle seats S, SA, and SB may be manufactured by the above manufacturing method, in which the vehicle seats S, SA, and SB include a fixing portion 35A that fixes the drive portion 30 to the hollow portion 15, the drive portion 30 having a motor 31, the fixing portion 35A having a biasing portion 39 attached to the side of the motor 31, and a contact portion 38 provided at the tip of the biasing portion 39 and contacting the inner wall surface 14a of the frame F, and the drive portion 30 is supported by the contact portion 38 being biased against the inner wall surface 14a of the frame F.
- the vehicle seats S, SA, and SB may be manufactured by the above-mentioned manufacturing method in which the fixed portion 35A has at least four biasing portions 39 and abutment portions 38 provided at the tips of the biasing portions 39.
- the vehicle seat SB may be manufactured by the above manufacturing method, which includes preparing a seat back that serves as the backrest, and the seat back may have a back frame that forms the framework, a first side airbag device that is attached to the back frame within one outer side in the seat width direction, and a second side airbag device that is attached to the back frame within the other outer side, and the drive unit may be manufactured by the manufacturing method in which the drive unit is located between the first side airbag device and the second side airbag device when viewed from above.
- the vehicle seats S, SA, and SB according to the embodiments of the present invention have been described above with reference to the drawings.
- the drive unit 30 is provided in the hollow portion 15 of the rear pipe 14, 14A, but the location where the drive unit 30 is provided is not limited to the hollow portion 15 of the rear pipe 14, and the drive unit 30 may be provided in the hollow portion of the front pipe 13 of the cushion frame 10.
- the drive unit 30 may also be provided in the hollow portion of the back frame 20.
- the reclining lock device 6a has been mentioned as an example of a driven part that is driven by the drive unit 30, the driven part may also be the slide rail lock device 7c of the slide device 7, and the slide may be unlocked by the cable being pulled by the drive unit 30.
