Definitions
- the present invention relates to reactive hot melt adhesives and structures.
- Patent Document 1 describes a sheet or tape-like hot melt adhesive for bonding stretchy materials.
- Hot melt adhesives are solid at room temperature, and when heated to a liquid state, they are brought into contact with the adherend and then cooled to solidify, resulting in adhesive strength.
- Hot melt adhesives can be broadly divided into two types: those that contain a thermoplastic resin as the main component, and those that contain a reactive resin.
- Hot melt adhesives that contain a urethane prepolymer are known as hot melt adhesives that contain a reactive resin (hereinafter also referred to as reactive hot melt adhesives).
- Hot melt adhesives that contain urethane prepolymer not only exhibit a certain degree of adhesive strength in a short time when cooled to solidify, but also harden when the terminal isocyanate groups of the urethane prepolymer react with moisture in the air or on the surface of the adherend. As a result, they exhibit strong adhesive strength that cannot be achieved with hot melt adhesives that contain thermoplastic resin.
- Patent document 1 JP 2017-179195 A

- the reactive hot melt adhesive of the present disclosure is a reactive hot melt adhesive that contains a urethane prepolymer and satisfies at least one of the following conditions A and B.
- Condition A The proportion of aromatic rings in the total amount of the urethane prepolymer is 22 mass% or less.
- Condition B The glass transition temperature in the cured state is 25° C. or less.
- the reactive hot melt adhesive of the present disclosure contains a urethane prepolymer as a reactive component, and therefore exhibits excellent adhesive strength by exhibiting adhesion resulting from cooling and solidification after heating and melting as well as adhesion resulting from a curing reaction between the urethane prepolymer and moisture. Furthermore, in the reactive hot melt adhesive of the present disclosure, the proportion of aromatic rings in the total amount of the urethane prepolymer (hereinafter also referred to as the aromatic ring ratio of the urethane prepolymer) is 22 mass% or less, or the glass transition temperature in the cured state is 25°C or less.
- reactive hot melt adhesives in which the aromatic ring ratio of the urethane prepolymer is 22 mass% or less, or the glass transition temperature in the cured state is 25°C or less, have superior elasticity after curing compared to reactive hot melt adhesives that do not meet either of these conditions.
